Truck runs into midst of school children, many feared dead in Lagos

Many children feared dead as truck ran into midst of school children along Ogunnusi Road, Grammar School Bus Stop, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.

According to reports, the pupils were going home after closing from school and wanted to cross the road when the truck ran over them.

The driver was said to have attempted to escape after the incident but was chased to the Ogba area where he was arrested.

An eye witness account, “I have never witnessed such a terrible scene in my life. I saw about 15 pupils lying lifeless on the ground. The incident occurred around 2 pm.

“At least 15 died on the spot while many there sustained various injuries were rushed to hospital”

The incident has reportedly resulted in a riot while policemen fired tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.
