Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu cooks in Food Festival

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has challenged men who see cooking as job for women alone as he and Whitemoney made a show at the Lagos Food Festival 2021 on Sunday, December 12.


Lagos State – A video showed the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, cooking alongside Hazel Onoduenyi, popularly known as Whitemoney.

In the video, Governor Sanwo-Olu and Whitemoney, the 2021 BBNaija winner, are seen in black aprons as they prepare the food.

While the Lagos State governor is stirring the food, Whitemoney is seen applying some seasonings to the admiration of the crowd.

The Lagos Food Festival 2021 took place on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos, is themed “A Taste of Lagos.

The Governor with Big Brother Naija season six winner, Whitemoney, made a show of their culinary skills after they were seen cooking at the Lagos Food Festival 2021 on Sunday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu in a viral video was in black aprons alongside the reality show winner as they prepared the food.

While Governor Sanwo-Olu was stirring the food, Whitemoney also known as Hazel Onoduenyi was seen applying some seasonings to the food.

The Commissioner for Agriculture in the state, Abisola Olusanyato, while speaking on the aim of the festival disclosed that it is to stimulate local and foreign investors’ interest in the food business.

Moreover, the Governor in a statement released on his Facebook account revealed that he cooked a Lagos delicacy made from onion, smoked fish, mixed granules of bonga fish, crayfish, pepper and seasoning, alongside invited chef, Whitemoney.

He further stated, “The Food Festival was put together by the Ministry of Agriculture to exhibit local delicacies and agricultural commodities produced in Lagos for the international market.

“I encouraged the sellers to take advantage of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to grow their businesses, noting that part of the event’s objectives was to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of the residents.

“Our administration is very committed to promoting the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and we will continually carry out reforms to ensure the ease of doing business in Lagos.”

However, some people have seen the development as a strategy by the Lagos State Governor to win the heart of Lagosians ahead of the 2023 election.
