PRAISE & WORSHIP:
More holiness give me,
More sweetness within,
More patience in suff’ring,
More sorrow for sin,
More faith in my Savior,
More sense of His care,
More joy in His service,
More freedom in prayer. Come, my Savior, and help me,
Comfort, strengthen and keep me;
Thou each moment wilt save me,
  Thou art saving me now.

28 APRIL MESSAGE:

Today, let us read verse 16 of the Fire Scripture from another version of the Bible, the New Living Translation Bible: For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.” (NLT).

This is a simple but straightfarward explanatian of the pride of life. They are those things that are in the world that make people to desire earthly things more than the heavenly ones. These include fame, popularity, power, position, possessions, beauty and many more.

As a Christian, do you crave for everything you see? How much of physical pleasure do you entertain as a Christian?

The Bible says that he who lives in pleasure while alive is already a dead fellow. The pride of life talks about when you are consumed by the amount of your possessions, your achievements and those things that make you demonstrate a high level of superiority above others.

What do you have that does not come from God? God gave you power to get wealth. Your exalted position is all by the power of God. He can bring low and humble any proud person as he did to Nebuccadnezar, the king, who was converted to an animal for a period of time.

Is it your beauty? Remember God made man in His own image, male and female. Even your accomplishments. are all as a result of what He permits to be. God gives and He takes!

The Bible says that the life of a man does not consist in what he has. We brought nothing to this world and we surely will go with nothing. What will it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit eternity? . Today’s memory verse is a pointer to the fact that the knowledge of God and His kingdom should be our priority and not pushed to the second or rear position.

The rich fool in the Bible rejoiced over his bountiful harvest but failed to honour God the Qne who made it possible. Do not repeat the costly mistake he made.

Beloved, prayerfully get rid of the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life today.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Spirit of pride, die in my life, in the name of Jesus.

2. I refuse and reject the friendship with the world, in the name of Jesus.

3. I shall not be an enemy of God, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:

4. I dethrone flesh in my life and enthroned Jesus as the Lord of my life, in the name of Jesus.

5. I shall not slaughter my eternity on the altar of worldly affairs, in the name of Jesus.

6. Power to overcome Satan, the flesh and the world, possess me now, in the name of Jesus.

7. O God arise, and help me to die to self and sin in my life, in the name of Jesus.
