In Jeremiah 50:31, the Lord says “ Behold, I am against thee O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I visit thee.” This Scripture leads us to our message of this week ie THE PRIDE OF THE PROUD.
Pride is a great spiritual phenomenon that plagues the life of most individuals whether man or woman, husband or wife, young or old, rich or poor, servant or leader, minister or overseer, pastor or member, doctor or patient, pilot or passenger, teacher or student, big or small, holy or unholy, wise or stupid, righteous or wicked, kind or unkind, fat or slim etc. Pride can enter all the above people and make God be against them.
What is Pride? Pride is a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. It can be termed consciousness, self-esteem, dignity, honour, self-respect, self-regard, ego, self-worth, self-image, self-identity, self-importance, merits, self-superiority a feeling of being best above others or satisfaction of achievements. It is putting yourself forward as the best among equals.
There can be physical pride or spiritual pride. An example of physical pride is what King Nebuchadnezzar exhibited in Daniel 3:15 while spiritual pride is what manifested in the heart of Lucifer in Isaiah 14:13-14.

– In the cemetery you will realize that life is worthless, the ground on which we walk today will be our roof tomorrow. Let us make the efforts to remain humble by having fear of God and respect of our neighbours. Please, give to people in need no matter how small.
You are God’s Treasure!
If one day, we all are allowed to put our problems on a table and exchange them, I’m sure that after few minutes, everyone would silently take back their own & leave the table.
There is no such thing as a perfect life, nobody has it all together.
Just as our faces are different, so are our problems.
Never be envious of what someone else has. You don’t know the price they paid to get it and the price they are paying to keep it.
You don’t own half of the problems in this world.
While you are discreetly wishing to be like the other person, Someone else is seriously praying for that life you take for granted.
Sometimes the people you envy, are actually wishing they could have the life you live.
Be contented and cherish what you have. You can be anything you want, just don’t be ungrateful.

| The sincerity of a husband is known during the sickness of his wife. That of a wife is known during the financial difficulty of the husband. True love of children is known during the old age of the parents.
The true nature of siblings is known during the distribution of inheritance.
The sincerity of friends is known during hard times.
True relatives are known when one is far from his country, lonely or sick.
True love is known when there is no means of benefit & a true believer is known during times of hardship.
In all, life is the teacher itself. May we grow in wisdom, understanding and patience.
1. Be careful so you don’t hate a lovely person, because of a dirty rumour you heard about them which was created out of jealousy and envy.
2. Try to appreciate those who gossip about you. It’s not easy for someone to leave their problems and carry yours on their head.
3. Forgive betrayals but be careful with them, because next time they may not spare your life.
4. Even if you kill yourself for some people, they will still complain that you didn’t die in a proper way. Do your best and leave the rest, you can’t satisfy human beings.
5. If you are always worried about what others are saying about you, you will never be happy.
6. When your blessings are getting closer, your attacks become greater. Don’t look at the storm, God is the controller of all things he created, and is by your side, you’re a victor.
7. Everybody can not love you, don’t lose your peace with those who hate you.
Those who convinced people to hate you can not convince God to hate you.
8. Stay connected to God always.
Have confidence in God for with God all things are possible. |

HOW MUCH DOES A CUP OF HATRED COST?
I never knew it was that costly. I wanted to know the cost of HATRED, so I decided to branch to a shop where it’s being sold.As a good Businessman who was looking for a buyer, the Salesman rushed out to ask what I wanted.
I told him I wanted just a cup of hatred, and then he smiled and asked if I could afford it.
‘How much does a cup cost?’ I asked?! Hmmmmm! He took in a deep breath, then started:
- It will, first of all, take away your inner peace.
- It will cost you incurable worries.
- It will eat up your heart.
- You will be deeply bitter whenever you set your eyes on the person you hate.
- When others are celebrating him or her, you will always be looking for why he or she doesn’t deserve it.
- You will become so weak and tired of seeing the person.
- Whenever he or she laughs, you will cry.
- While others are busy planning their future, you will be busy looking for how to pull him or her down.
- The Spirit of God will leave you and you will become the temple of devils where demons reside.
- You will begin to have different health issues like High Blood Pressure, Diabetics, Stroke, Cancer, Liver Disease, Kidney Disease, etc, as long as you drink from the cup of Hatred, Bitterness, Grudge, Unforgiveness, Malice, Anger, Jealousy, Envy, Resentment.
- Worse still, prayers or drugs cannot help much because you have disobeyed the natural and supernatural laws.12. You will die before your time and go to hell.
The seller was still counting what a cup of hatred will cost me, when I shunned him, realizing how EXPENSIVE hatred is.I left because I knew deep down I could not afford it.
I refuse to pay such a huge amount when I can LOVE so easily and cheaply.
Brethren, don’t allow anybody to take away your joy and sell or give you hatred.
Avoid gossip, bitterness, anger, etc because a lot of times, it is what you hear about somebody that breeds hatred.
