MESSAGE:

From our devotional yesterday, we were able to establish the truth that Jesus does not want His followers to be entangled by the vain pursuit of life. Unfortunately, many believers have lost their hunger and thirst for God due to their pursuit of mundane things of this world.

Search your heart. Do you still have that red-hot hunger in your heart for God as it was some years back? I mean the type of hunger that used to drive you before God for communion at the slightest opportunity.

Is your heart not dogged with the vain pursuits of life? Remember Luke 12: 15b that says-“A man’s life does not consist of the abundance things he possesses. This means that your life is not defined by your wealth, degree, mansion, cars, fat bank account, designer outfits, etc. Your life is only defined by the degree of the faithfulness of God that you carry.

All these wordly possessions shall be destroyed eventually. Its only God’s life that is eternal. Take of the admonition by Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:11-“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.”

Beloved, the only ONE worthy of your time, energy, passion and pursuit is the Almighty God and not any other thing. Is God your ultimate pursuit in life?

You need to take a cue from the Psalmist, a man after God’s heart, and make your pursuit of God deliberate, conscious and vigorous. The Psalmist (David) and other men who had or still have appointment with glorious destiny make the pursuit of God their ultimate pursuit in life.

The devil is vigorously.and bitterly using the arrow of sin, iniquity, distraction, diversion, evil engagement and so on to fight the desire and determination of many believers to seek and pursue God more.

Always remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (John 4:4).

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Holy Spirit, breathe afresh upon me, in the name of Jesus.

2. Holy Spirit, disconnect me with Your fire from every evil entanglement, in the name of Jesus.

3. Negative current in my life, programmed to cut me off from God, dry up, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Foundational evil hunters assigned to harvest my soul, be wasted by fire, in the name of Jesus.

5. I refused to be wasted, in name of Jesus.

6. I shall make positive impact for Jesus in my generation, in the name of Jesus.

7. I plug my life into the socket of God’s fire, in the name of Jesus.
