WORSHIP & PRAISE
O God, Our Help In Ages Past

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home:

2 Under the shadow of your throne
your saints have dwelt secure;
sufficient is your arm alone,
and our defense is sure.

3 Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received its frame,
from everlasting you are God,
to endless years the same.

4 A thousand ages in your sight
are like an evening gone,
short as the watch that ends the night
before the rising sun.

5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
soon bears us all away;
we fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the op’ning day.

6 O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
still be our guard while troubles last,
and our eternal home!

15/9/22 MESSAGE:

A storm in the general sense is a violent commotion or disturbance. It occurs in every life. There are different kinds of storms: marital storm, financial storm health storm career storm ministerial storm and so on. All these storms can affect a man’s life. In many cases, storms have driven man into depression, suicide, mental illness and so no.

As a child of God, the bible tells us in Hebrews 12:5-6: my son, despise not thou the chastening of the lord, nor faint when thou are rebuked of him: for whom the lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourges every son whom he received.’’ this means that children of God are not free from the storm of life. But ours is for God’s glory because he uses the storm of life to produce godly virtue in us to make us better vessels and more useful instrument in the hands:

All the saints we read about in the bible faced their own storms. Their attitude to storms produced testimonies to the glory of God. As long as God calls you his purpose. He lead you into the wilderness to face your own storm that will prepare you for his purpose and haven at last

Unfortunately, many who claim to be believer do not ask god grace to endure these persecutions and trials. They have little or no fruit of long suffering and they forget that storm are parts of life. Being a believer doesn’t exempt you from them. If Jesus Christ, the son of God faced his own storms and conquered, it means we can all conquer if we take our cue from him.

The Bible says in Galatians 6:9b ‘’ for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” victory only comes to those who endure to the end, those who allow God to be glorified through their storm. As children of God, we should always remember that Jesus will never leave us, especially in the storms. Through our fire scripture we understand that though the disciple were scared, Jesus was in their boat and He saved them.
