FIRE SCRIPTURE: James 1:20-25:-

For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

25/9/22 MESSAGE:
The Bible promises the blessing of God for those who apply the word of God to their lives. The memory verse today reveals the dangerous belief in hearing God’s word alone without maximizing the spiritual value by putting it to practice in our lives. When we make light of either the sufficiency of Scripture or the power of the Holy Spirit, we miss out on the promises of God for our lives.

The impact of the Scripture on our lives cannot be underestimated only if we apply it appropriately to our daily living. According to James 1:22-25, we can experience God’s truth so powerfully that what the Lord wants us to do becomes very clear to us. But if we do not apply the truth as we ought to, regardless of how wonderful the experience of discovering the truth is, we deceive ourselves.

If we think we would be blessed by giving attention to the word of God, only occasionally, when it is convenient for us, then we do not expect a deep experience of God’s power in our lives. The doer of the word at all times, on the other hand, will be blessed with all the promises of the blessings, success, and prosperity given in God’s word.

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Meditation ultimately leads to application. Anyone who meditates on God’s word will end up acting on the word and become a doer of the word. A doer of the word has Christ-like nature and obeys God fully. When God instructed Joshua to meditate on His word day and night, He told him the purpose for meditating was, ‘that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein…” and the promise was, “then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” You cannot apply the word of God to your life and still live in sin. The word has a cleansing power.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1.Hunger and thirst for the of God, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.

2.Living word of God, transform my life, in the name of Jesus.

3 Holy Spirit, make me a doer of God’s word, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4.I build my life on the foundation of God’s word, in the name of Jesus.

5. Fire in the word of God, rearrange my life for revival, in the name of Jesus.

6. Word of God, purify my heart, in the name of Jesus.

7. Hunger for God’s word, consume my spirit, in the name of Jesus.
