BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 18 – 20; Acts 4 – 5.

WORSHIP & PRAISE:
1 I am praying, blessèd Saviour,
To be more and more like thee;
I am praying that thy Spirit

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Chronicles 26:14-21 {KJV}
14 And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.

15 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the Lord, that were valiant men:

18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God.

19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.

20 And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the Lord had smitten him.

21 And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.

01-06-23 MESSAGE:
In today’s fire scripture, we are warned as Christians not to love the world and the things that are in the world. Those who love the world will perish with the world. Loving the world indicates that you are consumed by the things that are in the world and not the things of the kingdom.

You cannot love the world and yet love the Father. John went on to tell us what is in the world; this can be categorized into three, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

They are properties of the world and not of the Father. Today’s memory verse says: friendship with the world is enmity with God. You either love the world, and you don’t love God; or you love God, but not love the world. You can’t sit on the fence!

What is the lust of the eyes? Lust is generally an evil craving or desire. The lust of the eyes has to do with your visual power, the temptation to see and covet what you have seen. It can also be regarded as the negative impact of what you see or watch on your mind. When you fail to discipline your eyes, it will be attracted to scenes, persons and things that can easily pollute or corrupt your mind and steal your peace.

Hence, you must be careful! Whatever evil attraction through your eyes capable of polluting your spiritual life and destroy the relationship between you and God must be avoided.

Do you see and covet another man’s possessions? Are you greedy of gains? Are you promiscuous in your looks? Job said I’ve made a covenant with my eyes, not to look at a maiden. It means; I do not want to look at a woman in a way that it will bring lust to my mind.

This is the example of a man who has crucified his eyes. Eve looked and got hooked to the forbidden fruit. David’s sin of adultery started with a strange look at another man’s wife, Bathsheba, wife of Uriah.

The second category is the lust of the flesh. This is the inordinate affection and desires that stern from thoughts and imaginations that are contrary to God’s Word. The Bible refers to the works of the flesh in Gal 5:19-21, the conclusion is that those who engage in those things would not inherit God’s kingdom.

The flesh is often warring against the spirit, because it feeds on camal and ephemeral things. If you desire to live an overcomer’s life in the spirit; you must compulsorily subdue and totally crucify the flesh. This was apostle Paul’s cry in Rom.7:24-25. The flesh is the manifestation of the old nature in us before we got born again.

It is of utmost importance that you put it off and put on the new man which is renewed in the knowledge of Christ. (Eph.4:22-24).
Galatians 5:24-25 counsels us to walk in the spirit in order not to fulfill the lust of the flesh. The flesh must be die if you desire a sin free life.

Flee camality! Crucify the flesh. Put it under control and don’t allow it to control you.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING:

1. O Lord forgive me for every sin of lust of the eyes and the flesh in the name of Jesus.

2. My eyes will not lead me to hell fire in the name of Jesus.

3. Every activity and desire of the flesh in me, die in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:

4. I put my body under control by power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus.

5. O God give me grace to overrule carnality in my life and I begin to walk in the Spirit in the name of Jesus.

6. Blood of Jesus purge my life and separate me from the world in the name of Jesus.

7. I receive power to overcome every lustful desire by the power in the Blood of Jesus in the name of Jesus.
