Welcome to MFM Devotional, 29\04\23

PRAISE & WORSHIP

Jesus only is our message,
Jesus all our theme shall be;
We will lift up Jesus ever,
Jesus only will we see. Jesus only, Jesus ever,

Jesus all in all we sing,
Savior, Sanctifier, and Healer,
Glorious Lord and coming King.

2 Jesus only is our Savior,
All our guilt He bore away,
He, our righteousness forever,
All our strength from day to day.

3 Jesus is our Sanctifier,
Saving us from self and sin,
And with all His Spirit’s fulness,
Filling all our hearts within.

4 Jesus only is our Healer,
All our sicknesses He bare,
And His risen life and fulness,
All His members still may share.

5 Jesus only is our Power,
He the gift of Pentecost;
Jesus, breathe Thy pow’r upon us,
Fill us with the Holy Ghost.

6 And for Jesus we are waiting,
List’ning for the Advent Call;
But ’twill still be Jesus only,
Jesus ever, all in all.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 17 – 19; Matthew 27 – 28

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
Forgive today, it can save your life tomorrow. Forgiveness worth more than a million dollars. The weak cannot forgive. Forgiveness is a characteristic of the strong.

29/4/23 PROPHETIC WORD:
AS YOU DECIDE TO LET GO OF THOSE WHO OFFENDED YOU, HEAVEN OF FAVOUR SHALL OPEN FOR YOU IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS.

PMCH is May, 2023

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 18: 21-35 -KJV

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

29/4/23 MESSAGE:

The parable of the unforgiving servant, as given by our Lord Jesus Christ, teaches us, Christians, about virtues such as mercy, love, and tolerance. The unmerciful servant owed his master, the king, ten thousand talents, which he could not afford to pay, even if he worked all year round.

However, he found favour with his master. He was forgiven and his debt was canceled. Meanwhile, he met a fellow servant who owed him a hundred denarii. The debtor begged him to forgive him, but he refused bluntly. Rather, he cast him into the prison until he could make repayment.

Now, the ten thousand talents is about sixty million denarii compared to a hundred denarii. He was forgiven of a such huge debt, but he couldn’t forgive his fellow bondservant of a little debt. For this evil act. the king reversed his forgiveness and he was delivered to the tormentors until he repay all he owed. Unforgiveness is a roadblock. It hinders mercy, testimonies and breakthroughs. Despite all our numerous sins, God still forgives and cleanses us with the atoning blood of Jesus, who is also our advocate (1 John 2:9-10).

In the Lord’s prayer, we pledge to forgive those who sin against us. Another name for marriage is forgiveness. If you find it difficult to overlook offenses, then how will you cope in marriage? Your spouse will offend you again and again. How many times will you keep on reporting to, family members and friends.

In 1 Samuel 25: 2-42, David had wanted to avenge himself on Nabal but Abigail pleaded with him and he turned back. Within ten days, God smote Nabal and he died. God knows how to handle whatever may come up between two or more people. Allow God to intervene. You all show mercy on others as you want God to show mercy on you (James 2:13).

Appreciate God for the salvation you cannot afford to pay for. Unforgiveness can destroy a Christian and close the heaven of God’s grace. Therefore, forgive for your own benefit.
