WELCOME to MFM Devotional, 27-09-22

PRAISE & WORSHIP:-
THY WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET

1 Thy Word is a lamp to my feet,
A light to my path alway,
To guide and to save me from sin,
And show me the heav’nly way.

Refraiin:
Thy Word have I hid in my heart,
That I might not sin against Thee;
That I might not sin, that I might not sin,
Thy Word have I hid in my heart.

2 Forever, O Lord, is Thy Word
Established and fixed on high;
Thy faithfulness unto all men
Abideth for ever nigh. (Refrain)

3 At morning, at noon, and at night
I ever will give Thee praise;
For Thou art my portion, O Lord,
And shall be thro’ all my days! (Refrain)

4 Thro’ Him whom Thy Word hath foretold,
The Saviour and Morning Star,
Salvation and peace have been bro’t
To those who have strayed afar. (Refrain)

BIBLE ON ONE YEAR: Isaiah 63, Isaiah 64, Isaiah 65:1-16, Ephesians 4:17-32, Ephesians 5:1-7, Psalm 112:1-10

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 22:37-
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind”.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES: Jesus loves us so dearly

PROPHETIC WORD FOR 27-9-22:
No battle from the pit of hell shall separate you from the love of Christ, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 12:28-34

Matt 22: 34-40

34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mk 12: 28-34

28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

MESSAGE for 27-09-22:

Part of God’s greatest commandment, as Jesus said, is to “… Love the Lord thy God with thy heart, and with all thy mind.” What God wants most from us is love, and one of the ways wants us to show love and obedience to Him is by learning from Him.

Lamentably, many Christians do not associate learning with loving God. Many comfortable with going to church and listening to sermons, and after that, they close the and do not study further. The Bible warns, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

The digital age has given room for more knowledge at our finger tips. We can decide to study the scripture, read books, biographies, and watch online programmes etc. on our mobile devices such as phones, tablets, laptops etc. In a world that is fast advancing in wickedness, Christians need to study and meditate deeply on God’s word to know Him better to be able to remain in His love. In the last days, the Bible says that the love of many shall wax cold.

For our love not to wax cold, we need to hold on tight to God’s words. The constant reminder of who God is, the depth of His love and His promises through His word has the unlimited power to sustain us in these evil days. Through this, we obey the scripture by loving God with all our hearts.

How can it all fit together? A certain man of God wrote: “God has made us with a harmony of heart and head, of thought and action.” The more we know Him, the more we love Him, and the more we seek to know Him. To be central in our hearts, He must be foremost in our minds.

Unless we keep growing and renewing our minds through God’s word, we will be the Christian versions of the Samaritans to whom Jesus said, “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22).

Beloved, be ready to learn and love God the more.
