Whose duty is it to fix Nigeria?
Do not say I told you that maintenance culture is near-zero in Nigeria.
Is public property not everybody’s property?
Destruction of government’s property: Who cares?
Do we care when government/public property are being wilfully destroyed?
Do not say I told you that ongoing construction of railways project from Ibadan to Lagos is already being converted to habitation of miscreants.
From Agbado to Iddo in Ebute-Meta, these miscreants who have virtually converted the rail lines to their place of abode, have built shanties along the sides of the rails. They normally set fire on the rails that are still under construction, they cook and burn whatsoever they like on the rails. They bath without regards for passersby. They defecate right on the rails.
Is it not painful to note that the yet-to-be-completed project is under threat?
While the construction is ongoing at one end, the miscreants are destroying the work from another end.
Is there no one saddled with the responsibility to protect public utilities from destruction?
Investigations by allcitynews.ng showed that majority of them are from neighbouring countries. Since they have nothing at stake, should they be allowed wilfully destroy government’s property?
Since their intention is not to build but to destroy, should they be allowed to keep destroying public utilities?
In a similar situation, is in Lagos Island.
Imagine heavy duty buses are on daily basis converting top of Inner Marina and CMS bridge to parks. The bridge linking CMS to Apongbon is usually converted to illegal park by the heavy duty vehicles plying Ajah to CMS. They park on top of the bridge thereby endangering the lifespan of that bridge for whatsoever reason.
In another development, most under bridges are now becoming haven for miscreants. For example,
Oshodi-Ikeja under bridge now become home for miscreants who now smoke all types of things in the day time. Unless something is done now, the sets of people can be threat to peace, especially to people in the night.
Likewsise, the Long Bridge along Ibadan-Lagos expressway. That bridge is a place where some hoodlums are using as operational base. Most motorists and travellers who are aware of the danger along that bridge are always prayerful against faults because any faulty vehicle could be target of attack, especially in the early hours of the day or from 6.30pm in evening.
Most motorists who are aware, incase of any broken down vehicle often make efforts to forcefully drive or push such vehicles to either Wariwa area or Kara area depending on the direction to avoid unforseen attacks.
Is Okada riding now legalised in Lagos? Allen Avenue, CMS, Ojuelegba, etc, now have so many of them.
Thank God that men of RRS have been on Allen Avenue roundabouts since last week, dislodging Okada riders. More still need to be done because majority of those riders always drive against traffic and disregard traffic lights.
