That the present regime of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making frantic efforts to win foreign investors into the country may no longer be news.

But the one that may sound as interesting news that unless internal organs within the corridor of power are forced to work in line with the needed patriotism, the industrialisation goal of  BAT regime might be a mirage.

The same government with one hand, is chasing away investors which it is trying to win for investment with another hand.

The people who are acting as caterpillars inside the government’s agencies are pulling down the same structures being built by BAT.

For example, when Mr President announced palliative measure for Nigerians during this just concluded Christmas and New year holiday, little did he know that some workers on government’s payroll were ready to waste that plan for selfish reasons.

Some workers within Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) frustrated the good intention of BAT by plying the routes with empty trains  at the expense of hundreds of people that could not gain access to the train.

And in the last few months, about seven companies were forced to shut down or relocate to other countries over worsening harsh business environment.

In a country where the Presidency is wooing foreign investors, some people inside his cabinet are chasing existing companies away with multiple taxation and other anti-progress activities and hindering new investors from coming into the country.

The lingering foreign exchange scarcity, port congestion, insecurity, and poor infrastructure, among others have taken a toll on many businesses in the country.

Mayor Biscuits Company Limited; Louis Carter Industries; Moak Enterprises; Tower Aluminium; GlaxoSmithKline Nigeria; Technoflex Company Limited; Evans Medicals and others were part of the establishments that created jobs for hundreds of people, by today, they have been compelled to pack out of Nigeria.

As a result, they are now making Nigeria a dumping ground for finished products thereby creating jobs for other countries at the detriment of Nigerians.

Apart from corruption which has eaten deep into the fabrics of the country whereby electricity generator and distributor companies are authorities another sets of people that are working against the conducive business environment in the country.
