First Bank wins 2020 BJAN Award

It may no longer be news to many people that invasion of coronavirus pandemic did much havocs to lives and institutions globally.

But the fresh news is that despite the odds in year 2020, First Bank of Nigeria has not only sail through but also won the Most Socially Responsible Bank in Nigeria’s COVID-19 crisis 2020.

According to the Chairman, Brands Journaliats Association of Nigeria (BJAN), Mr Princewill Ekwujuru, First Bank won the award following the renewed efforts by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr Adesola Adeduntan to continue to look at all areas of intervention where it’s business infrastructure, reach, digital platforms and others natural strengths lie and can be deployed to further support all efforts for Nigerians, young and old alike.

“It is not surprising that First Bank is named most socially responsible Bank in Nigeria’s COVID-19 crisis.

“Among others, the bank has been at the forefront of ensuring safety and survival of Nigerians during and after pandemic that has shaken the entire world to its foundations.”

First Bank, stressed Ekwujuru in its bid in ensuring health facilities are rapidly expanded, especially Testing, Isolation, treatment and the provision of intensive care unit (ICU) facilities pivotal to controlling the spread and importantly, treating individuals diagnosed with COVID-19, generously donated the sum of N1 billion towards the joint efforts by the Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID).”

In addition, the bank has prepared eLearning for one million children in a move to bring more children into the arena of sound education
