Contrary to the popular belief that Shoprite is packing away from Nigeria, the management team of shop has denied that story.
Speaking with allcitynews.ng, one of the management staff who refused to give out his name, admittedly said “the truth is there is going to be change of management. A new management will soon take over. The title and every other thing will remain statuesque.”
The South African based retailer, the staff explained, has been experiencing low patronage since outbreak of coronavirus pandemic lockdown..
It would be recalled that earlier report said the process of considering sale of majority stake in the shop, which was based on effect of the COVID-19 lockdown as customer visits to the retailer dropped by 7.4% as the average basket spend increased by 18.4%.
