Ahead of 2023 general elections, members of Organised Private Organisation (OPS), have demanded for inclusion in policy formulation by National Assembly.

Reiterating that it will no longer be business as usual whereby unimplemtable policies are being forced and dumped on the sector, they admitted that unless OPS have a voice and ear in policy formlation and also included in economic revival plan by Federal Government, the economic and the country will continue to grow in circle.

Just as they demanded for competent and patriotic leaders in the 2023 elections. They noted that fighting poverty outside sound and implementable policy on tackling corruption would be a mirage.

Similarly they suggested that accurate data based could be best remedy to prune corruption.

Again, they unanimously admitted that OPS from 2023 must be included in policy formulation by National Assembly in order for them to have say in what will affect the economy.

Speaking in the just concluded National Economic Dialogue organised by Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), the keynote speaker, Profesor Bongo Adi stated that guarantee on economic growth without adequate drastic steps to tackle poverty, brain drain could be counterproductive.

The panel of dicussants made up of Taiwo Oyedele, Dr Muda Yusuf, Dr Josh Bamfo, Dr Ogho Okiti with Mrs Victoria Uwadoka as the moderator, demanded for sound policy backed up with data generation and proper implementation and strict monitoring structure.

Similarly, they admitted that sharing money without value-adding which could involve labour can not solve poverty but that having data-driven-policy with inclusive approach and proper coordination by government will lead to expected economic revival. And also they noted that as poverty decimate human capacity, corruption at all levels must be dealt with.
