Welcome to MFM Devotional, 12 May 24

PRAISE & WORSHIP:

I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.” Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Exodus 2:1-9

 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
² And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

³ And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

⁴ And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

⁵ And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

⁶ And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

⁷ Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

⁸ And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

⁹ And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.

SUN MAY 12 MESSAGE:

Jochebed had unwavering faith in Yahweh, and she eventually saw
Yahweh’s glory as her name implies. “By faith Moses, when he born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a proper child, and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.”

It takes high level of faith to defy the king’s commandment to protect the interest of God. From our Fire Scripture,  Pharaoh had started seeing the nation of Israel as threat and so issued that every son born by Hebrew women were to be thrown into the Nile river.

Jochabed already had two children without any hitch, but when the Deliverer of God’s people was to be born, the serpent raised up its ugly head against the seed of the woman. A wicked decree was signed, targeted against baby Moses.

Thank God for a mother who, like the children of Issacher, understood the times and knew what she ought to do. I pray for you, may you know what to do in every situation of life, in the name of Jesus. May you not be clueless in the scheme of life, in the name of Jesus.

By faith in Yahweh, she defied the king’s decree and hid her son for three months. A lot of women would have accepted this as fate and throw their sons into the river. Some may even have aborted their pregnancies out for fear that it might eventually be a boy.

But Jochabed dared to be different. She hid her son. She protected the heritage of Israel and defended the interest of God. She together with her husband were not afraid of the king’s unrighteous decree because they trusted the protection of God for their baby. The evil that happened to other babies need not happen to their own baby. I pray that God’s mark of exemption from evil shall rest upon our families, in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, the world is getting crazier and earthly powers are coming up with various unrighteous policies meant to destroy the faith of God’s children. A lot are happening out there. In times like these, we need to have strong faith in God. We must stand firm to obey God rather than man.

I pray that our faith will not fail, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Unrighteous decree assigned to rubbish my destiny, woe unto you, die, in the name of Jesus.

2. Wicked verdict assigned to kill my seed, you are a liar, die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Unrighteous policies on assignment to weaken my faith in God, die, in the name of Jesus.

MORNING

4. Divine mark and covenant of exemption from evil, rest upon me and my family, in the name of Jesus.

5. My children shall not die, but live to declare the works of God, in the name of Jesus.

6. My Father, increase my faith, in the name of Jesus.

7. Begin to prophesy on your children, in the name of Jesus.
