MFM 2024: OUR YEAR OF OPEN DOORS & DIVINE SPEED

MFM Topic, Sat  April 20: God’s mouthpiece (2)

Beloved! Remember Bridges and walls are made with the same materials. But though Bridge joins the people, But Wall divides the people. Are you a Bridge that link people together or you are a Wall that separates people.

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 20 April 24

PRAISE & WORSHIP:
Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free. Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes, illumine me,
    Spirit Divine!

2
Open my ears that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.

3
Open my mouth and let me bear
Tidings of mercy everywhere;
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.

4
Open my mind that I may read
More of Thy love in word and deed;
What shall I fear while yet Thou dost lead?
Only for light from Thee I plead.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 18, 2 Kings 19, 2 Kings 20; Matthew 11, Matthew 12

MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 4: 29- “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
It is only a sanctified tongue that can serve as the mouthpiece of God.

20 APRIL PROPHETIC WORD:
May your utterances connect you with divine purpose in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: James 3:2-12

2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

20 APRIL MESSAGE:
We started looking at this topic yesterday. The way you talk as a Christian reveals the level of spiritual  of your growth and maturity. In fact, it tells the people around you who are listening to you whether Jesus is truly living in you or not.

The Bible says we are the ambassadors of Jesus Christ, which means we have to represent Him flawlessly in all our activities, engagements, and pronouncements. Are you truly representing Jesus Christ? The way you have been talking, can it be said of you that you have the Spirit of God in you?

Apparently, God, our Father, does not waste His words, neither does He talk flippantly. God talks to bless His people, edify them, and comfort them. He also talks to them to discipline them and not destroy them. He talks to declare His counsel, thereby aligning us with His own purpose.

The words of God sooth and renew His people. The words of God are sweet to the ears and pleasant to the soul. His words dispel fear and bring encouragement to the hearers. The Bible also tells us about the quality of the utterances of our Master, Jesus, in Luke 4:22 ‘And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth.

And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?” Jesus spoke gracious Words as the mouthpiece of God, not vicious words like many contemporary Christians. In addition, the Bible tells us no undesirable utterances proceeded out of the mouth of Jesus Christ: “Who did no sin neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again (1 Peter:2:22-23

Are you getting the point I am trying to make? Jesus is the patterned Son of God, and our pattern for everything, which means you also must strive on daily basis to be the mouthpiece of God.

However, remember that it is only a sanctified tongue that can serve as the mouthpiece God. I pray that the Lord will give you a deeper understanding of what we have be discussing, in Jesus’ name.
