MFM Topic, Wed 12/04/23:-be a good imitator of God [1]

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 12/04/23

WORSHIP & PRAISE:

For mercies, countless as the sands
Which daily I receive
From Jesus, my Redeemer’s hands,
My soul, what canst thou give?

2 Alas! from such a heart as mine,
What can I bring Him forth?
My best is stained and dyed with sin,
My all is nothing worth.

3 Yet this acknowledgement I’ll make
For all He has bestowed;
Salvation’s sacred cup I’ll take,
And call upon my God.

4 The best return for one like me,
So wretched and so poor;
Is from His gifts to draw a plea,
And ask Him still for more.

5 I cannot serve him as I ought,
No works have I to boast;
Yet would I glory in the thought
That I shall owe Him most.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 13, 1 Kings 14, 1 Kings 15, Revelation 15, Revelation 16

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:1-9 (KJV)

1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Ephesians 5:1-9 [Easy-to-Read Version]

5 You are God’s dear children, so try to be like him.

2 Live a life of love. Love others just as Christ loved us. He gave himself for us—a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.

3 But there must be no sexual sin among you. There must not be any kind of evil or selfishly wanting more and more, because such things are not right for God’s holy people.

4 Also, there must be no evil talk among you. Don’t say things that are foolish or filthy. These are not for you. But you should be giving thanks to God.

5 You can be sure of this: No one will have a place in the kingdom of Christ and of God if that person commits sexual sins, or does evil things, or is a person who selfishly wants more and more. A greedy person like that is serving a false god.

6 Don’t let anyone fool you with words that are not true. God gets very angry when people who don’t obey him talk like that.

7 So don’t have anything to do with them.

8 In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light.

9 This light produces every kind of goodness, right living, and truth.

MEMORY VERSE: “And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.” – Luke 10:37

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
WHEN GOD BE FOR YOU WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU?

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

12/4/23 PROPHETIC WORD:
ANY POWER THAT WANTS YOU TO FAIL AS A PARENT SHALL FALL DOWN AND DIE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

12-04-23 MESSAGE:

In our Fire Scripture today, the first verse commands us to imitate God. How can we imitate someone that we cannot see? Job 11:7-8 tells us that we can see the mysteries of God but cannot probe the limits of the Almighty; they are higher than the heavens. Our God is love; you can be an imitator of God by living a life of love.

These days, most of our children live a life that is filled with fear. The main reason our children live in fear is because we parents live in fear. We have never learned to cast out fear by trusting completely in the love of God. So our children never learn to do it better. In other words, we cannot pass on to our children what we do not possess ourselves. This is why we cannot live one way and tell our children to live another.

Children are great natural learners and they learn best through observation and imitation. If your words say one thing and your actions say another, your children will pick up on your actions and ignore your words. For this reason, you must be very careful to live the way you want your children to live.

The old adage, “Do as I say not as I do” is a recipe for parental failure. Your children learn much more from your actions than they do from your words, especially if your actions and words do not agree.

As a godly parent, your words and actions must go hand in hand so as to work out great effect in reproducing your godly nature and character in your children. They must be Bible-compliant.

Parenting is powerful because it shapes the mind, attitude and behaviour of your children and wards for either good or bad. Children learn their behaviour by watching and imitating people they see. Be an imitator of God and a good example to your children!

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Every demon assigned to manipulate the destiny of my children, I paralyze your power and send you back to sender, in the name of Jesus.

2.Anything in my life pointing the way to hell to my children, come out and die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Any of my characters that is hindering the destiny of my children, be exposed and disgraced, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Holy Ghost fire, make the lives of my children untouchable for the evil ones, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every evil voice assigned to mislead my children, I silence you by fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Any power that does not want me to enjoy my children in my old age, die, in the name of Jesus.

7. My children, hear the word of the Lord, you shall live an exemplary life, in the name of Jesus.
