MFM Topic, Tue  28~11~23:-choose godly appearance

By beginning your day right with God through allcitynews.ng, you will  experience a Life-changing encounter with the God that answers by fire, in Jesus name

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 28~11~23

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: DANIEL 12; HOSEA 1; 1 TIMOTHY 3; 1 TIMOTHY 4

PRAISE & WORSHIP:

1 Forth in your name, O Lord, I go,

my daily labor to pursue,

determined only you to know

in all I think or speak or do.

2 The task your wisdom has assigned,

O let me cheerfully fulfill;

in all my works your presence find,

and prove your good and perfect will.

3 May I find you at my right hand;

your eyes see truly what I do.

I labor on at your command

and offer all my works to you.

4 Give me to bear your easy yoke

and ev’ry moment watch and pray

and still to things eternal look,

and hasten to your glorious day.

5 For you I joyously employ

whate’er you in grace have giv’n:

I run my daily course with joy

and closely walk with you to heav’n.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Timothy 2:9

In like manner also, that women adom themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.”

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: Make moderation your watchword. You are Christ’s ambassador!

28~11~23 PROPHETIC WORD:

Receive the grace to be holy within and without, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE. Romans 1:18-32

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

28~11~23 MESSAGE:

Believers are called to be Christlike. They are supposed to demonstrate the character, appearance and attitude of Christ to the world. They are ambassadors of heaven. They are in the world but not of the world. With their thoughts, speech, action and appearance, they are to point and lead others to heaven.

Jesus Christ, our Messiah, was born in a manger. He had a very humble approach to everything. People doubted that He was the Messiah to come because of His simplicity. They belittled Him and looked down on Him. What does this teach us? It teaches us the humility of Christ and how He would love us to always appear.

The world believes in fashion, even some Christians would tell you it is not the appearance but the heart. Anything that begins inside must definitely reflect on the outside. When a person is sick on the inside, it affects the physical appearance of the fellow; the same is true of the condition of our spiritual lives. The appearance of Christ was so humble that He had to be betrayed to be identified as the Messiah. He did not look any different from His disciples. Some people would not come to church because they do not want to wear the same shoes or dress or do not have matching shoes for their dress.

Any dressing that attracts the world negatively is not of God. We are sheep in the midst of wolves; we must be set apart and not generalised. God will judge our appearance as well as our hearts. Looking decent and modest to church is very good but it is better to always look godly wherever you go.

Beloved, the pleasures of the world are passing, eternal life is forever. Do not send yourself to hell. Use your appearance to draw others close to God and to lead them to heaven. Be holy within and without. The Lord be with you!
