WORSHIP & PRAISE:

1. We are never, never weary of the grand old song;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
We can sing it loud as ever, with our faith more strong;

O, the children of the Lord have a right to shout and sing,
For the way is growing bright, and our souls are on the wing;

2. We are lost amid the rapture of redeeming love

The major reason for the struggles and limitations of life and destiny is the battle at the edge of breakthrough.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR 09-02-23:
I decree that the blessing of the Lord shall swallow any curse in your life, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE:
2 Samuel 5:17-21

17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

19 And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

09-02-23 MESSAGE:
Our memory verse for today, 1 Corinthians 16:9, is very instructive in this discourse on the battle at the edge of breakthrough. Had Paul just said, “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me” and stopped, we would have had every cause to jump and shout. However, notice how he continued: “and there are many adversaries.” That is battle at the edge of breakthrough.

The door was opened, and it was not an ordinary door. Paul described it as a great and effectual door. The moment the enemies saw that the door was opened, they showed up to close it, thereby hindering Paul from breaking through.

Beloved, perhaps, you are at the edge of breakthrough. Are you going to cross over? You have struggled to get to this point. Will you follow the Holy Spirit into your destiny or will you hold back and just test the waters?

The enemy contends with breakthroughs so as to stop people from moving to their next level, achieve their dreams and have a change of story. The door of breakthrough that the Lord has opened for you is meant to lead you to your Canaan and give you testimonies of unspeakable joy.

The adversaries are like the war and people of Jericho. You need to get the help of God and the Consuming Fire will destroy the adversaries waging war at the edge of your breakthrough.

I once read the story of a traveller. The man had been on the journey for a long time and he got to a very narrow bridge. The only way was to either go forward or go back. Close to the place he was going, a ferocious lion appeared. He looked at the lion and was afraid. He thought about the long distance he had covered since he began the journey. He thought that if he confronted the lion, he might be killed. The only option was to go back. He made up his mind that he was going to confront the lion.

As he summoned courage and rushed against the lion, to his amazement, he found out that it was a paper (a mere drawing). He was so close to his destination and breakthrough, but that fictitious lion would have robbed him of it.

Beloved, you must declare war on the battle at the edge of your breakthrough in the place of prayer.

PRAYER POINTS
MORNING
1. Every power prolonging stagnancy in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.

2. Every power prolonging poverty in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Every power that wants to waste my destiny, be wasted, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Every arrow fired into my head to return me to square one, back fire, in the name of Jesus.

5. You yoke of Kadesh-Barnea in my life, break, in the name of Jesus.

6. Every vehicle of stagnancy in my life, I kill you today, in the name of Jesus.

7. Every stronghold binding me to Kadesh Barnea, die, in the name of Jesus.
