Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

2 Let me at a throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief. [Refrain]

Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:

07:05:23 PROPHETIC WORD:
MAY YOUR LIFE ENRICH OTHERS, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:36-42

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

07\05\23 MESSAGE:
The Bible contains the record of many people who played exemplary roles in the kingdom affairs at particular periods, making impact on the people around them and turning their lives to God through salvation in Christ. Though these people are dead, their lives remain worthy of emulation to believers across many centuries and they serve as godly role models.

One of such people is Dorcas who is also known as Tabitha. Interestingly, the life and works of this disciple of Christ were recorded in few verses but with words that clearly reveal Christlikeness. Though an ordinary woman, she was full of good works, especially to the widows and the needy at that time. Her life was so impactful that when she died, the people were so sad to miss their beloved benefactor.

One could deduce that Dorcas was not so rich, but had a good mind. She was hospitable and generous enough to share her meagre possessions with others. She definitely had the love of brethren in her heart, a compassionate believer of Christ, a ready and cheerful giver, not stingy or selfish.

Goodiness and kindness are embedded in Dorcas’ personality. These are parts of the components of the fruit of the Spirit which we also must cultivate and manifest as true believers of Christ. Throughout the Scriptures, God requires that love and compassion be shown to the widows and the fatherless (Exodus 22:22-23; Deuteronomy 24: 17-21).

Dorcas fulfilled this divine injunction, doing the will of God. No wonder, God was so delighted in her that with the intercessory prayer of Peter, her life was restored by the Resurrection and Life, Jesus Christ.

Dorcas had the mind of Christ (Phil.2:5) and demonstrated in practical terms the God’s kind of love to her fellow men. She used her God-given gifts to serve others, witnessing Christ through her acts of kindness. This was a godly way of building a relationship with lasting impact, leaving a godly legacy within the short time she laid dead.
Beloved, regardless of how rich or poor you are, ensure that you have good deeds that benefit others. Let your life demonstrate Christ’s love and goodness to other; positively impact people, believers and unbelievers alike.
