Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!

16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.”

17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body
and in your spirit, which are God’s.

17 JUNE 23 MESSAGE:

Every man is in three parts: the body, soul and the spirit. The three are important to God and shouldn’t be tampered with. The body is the carrier of the soul and spirit. 3John verse 2 tells us that God wants us to prosper in our body, soul and spirit. This is all round wellness and prosperity.

Just as our wellness is important, the purity of the body, soul and spirit is also vital. Can one be well in a polluted and defiled body? No! Can we continue in sin and say grace should abound, No! To enjoy total wellness requires the sanctity of the three. Our body is the temple of God, where His Spirit resides.

God no longer lives in tabernacles. He now lives within us and has made our hearts His dwelling place. Do you now see why the human body, especially for a Christian, should be kept holy and pure, away from filthiness, so that God can make it His tabernacle? God cannot behold iniquity. He abhors every detestable thing. A polluted vessel, a filthy body are all abomination to God. The Holy Spirit would depart from such.

Learn from the story of Samson. He was so powerful, yet he lusted after a Philistine woman who eventually sold him to his enemies. They mocked and ridiculed him with his eyes gorged out. This was all because he failed to honour God with his body.

He defiled the sanctuary of God to satisfy his lust. He wanted to move in God’s power as usual, but did not know that the Spirit of God had left him. If you continue to engage in filthy practices, there will be unanswered prayers, closed heaven, and you will become an enemy of God.

Today’s memory verse is expressly clear about the divine sanction for anyone that defiles God’s temple: God will destroy him! I am sure you don’t want to be destroyed. In case you are still in that kind of business where your body cannot be kept for God as a living sacrifice, I beg you to repent today and seek God’s face for forgiveness and mercy. He will clean you up and make peace with you.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Polluter of destiny, my life is not your candidate, jump out and die, in the name of Jesus.

2. Blood of Jesus, purge me and make me clean, in the name of Jesus.

3. Spirit of lustful desires, die in my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Agent of iniquity, my body is not your dwelling place, jump out, die, in the name of Jesus.

5. O God, arise and evacuate agents of defilement from my body with Your fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Fire of God, purify my life, in the name of Jesus.

7. Father Lord, make my body Your dwelling place, in the name of Jesus.
