Welcome to MFM Devotional, 14/01/23

PRAISE & WORHIP:
SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,

MESSAGE FOR 14/01/23:
The strongest home is a praying family. God has great plans for families. His desire is for every family to know Him, serve Him and be mightily blessed by Him. Similarly. He has good purposes for all families and expects them to connect to Him in a healthy and intimate relationship oiled by obedience to His Word, prayer and service to Him.

Today, many families are groaning under the frequent attacks of the enemy. In some instances, it is the parents that the enemy targets and tears apart. Constant disagreements that lead to physical assault and sometimes death are reported daily on social media and on the pages of newspapers.

At other times, the enemy’s targets and victims are the children. Parents that are at loggerheads and homes that the enemy has turned to battlefields cannot produce morally sound and exemplary children.

Separation and divorce rates are high. The number of broken homes, single parents and dysfunctional families has reached an alarming proportion today. The devil is obviously waging war against families and their members! Families need acidic prayers to wage a good warfare and disarm the enemy.

Who should be blamed? The plain truth is that each family that the devil invaded opened its doorway and gave him a foothold in their homes. The Bible says, “Give no place to the devil” (Ephesians 4:27).

Here are the ways some families give way to the enemy:

(1) Many families are ignorant of the devices of the devil.

(2) They fail to give God pre-eminence or first place in their lives and homes. They run their affairs with earthly wisdom and without God.

(3) They have no family altar, no family Bible Study time and they do not pray together.

(4) They are friendly with the world, too busy for church and do not want their children to be seen and tagged as “churchy” or “spiritual”.

(5) They are neither hot nor cold. They prefer being lukewarm to being on fire for God.

Beloved, a family that prays together wins and stays together. Ensure that every member of your family has genuine salvation and keep your family altar on fire. Make Bible study, prayer and worship a daily affair.

The Lord will save your family from satanic attacks, in the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. I dedicate my family to Jesus Christ, in the Name of Jesus.

2. I declare that my family is founded on the Word of God and driven by it, in the Name of Jesus.

3. The fire of God on my family altar will never go out, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Any legal ground that I have given to the enemy in my family, I withdraw you now, in the Name of Jesus.

5. Father, make all the members of my family to be sold out to You, in the Name of Jesus.

6. O God, arise, frustrate the agenda and activities of satan in my family, in the Name of Jesus.

7. Father, make my family a praying and winning one, in the Name of Jesus.
