FIRE SCRIPTURE: JAMES 4:1-8

06~11~23 MESSAGE:

Beloved, you must make drawing close to God a priority in your life. Another way to draw closer to God is through prayer. Our memory verse for today says that when we seek the Lord with all our hearts, we will find Him. That means that to find God, you must pant after Him and chase Him passionately. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. In James 4:8, the Bible says, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

Remember Abraham, everywhere he went, he built an altar unto the Lord. He had a firm communication line with the Lord. And because of this, God would not do anything except He had communicated with Abraham. If Abraham was not a man of prayer, it would have been impossible for him to be called the father of faith. He had a unique relationship with God; God called him a friend.

Another way to draw closer to God is fellowshipping with the brethren. It is sad to know that many do not regard the assembly of brethren anymore. The apostles always gathered together to pray and every time they did, great signs and wonders manifested.

Proverbs 27:17, “Tran sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” At the Upper Room, the disciples gathered in one accord and the Holy Ghost came on them with lots of gifts and power to preach His gospel.

Another way to draw closer to God is through humility. No proud man can encounter the Lord, let alone have anything to do with Him and for Him. Once pride comes in, the Holy Spirit goes and once He goes, destruction follows.

Finally, beloved, you can get closer to God through evangelism. God loves that we go out and tell people about Him. There is joy in heaven for every sinner that repents (Luke 15:7). John 15:16 says, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. O Lord, lead me to the place of divine encounter, in the name of Jesus.

2. Spirit of prayer, overshadow me now, in the name of Jesus.

3. O God, arise and give me a divine visitation, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Witchcraft manipulation against my spiritual growth, be frustrated, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every weapon of darkness in my body, killing my prayer life, be consumed by fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Agent of darkness programmed into my life against my spiritual growth, be exposed and disgraced, in the name of Jesus.

7. I enter into the presence of God by fire, in the name of Jesus.
