BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 21 – 23; Acts 6 – 7.

WORSHIP & PRAISE:
1 I am praying, blessèd Saviour,
To be more and more like thee;
I am praying that thy Spirit
Like a dove may rest on me.

Refrain:
Thou who knowest all my weakness,
Thou who knowest all my care,
While I plead each precious promise,
Hear, O hear, and answer prayer!

2 I am praying to be humbled
By the power of grace divine;
To be clothed upon with meekness
And to have no will but thine.

3 I am praying, blessèd Saviour,
And my constant prayer shall be
For a perfect consecration
That shall make me more like thee.

02\06\23 PROPHETIC WORD:

May you have the mind that is willing to do the will of God in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 John 2:15-17 {KJV}

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

02\06\23 MESSAGE:

Today, I want us to read another version of verse 16 of the fire scripture from the New Living Translation Bible; “For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”

This is a simple but straightforward explanation of the things that are in the world. Do you crave for everything you see? How much of physical pleasure do you entertain as a Christian? The Bible says, he who lives in pleasure while alive is already a dead fellow.

The pride of life talks about when you’re consumed by the amount of possessions, that you have; your achievements and those things that make you demonstrate a high level of superiority on others. What do you have that does not come from God?

The Bible says that the life of a man does not consists what he has. We brought nothing to this world and we surely will go with nothing. What will it profit a man to gain his soul and forfeit eternity? It is all as a result of when a person is engulfed in all of these while God and His Kingdom takes the rear position. Matt 6:33 counsel us to seek first the Kingdom of God…..

Do you remember the story of the rich fool in the Bible. He rejoiced over his bountiful harvest but failed to honor God the One who made this possible. He was so consumed with self to the extent that heaven required his life from him that day. Unfortunately, he has control over the worldly things but not over his soul. Hence, he lost all both on earth and in eternity! This remains a valid example and a lesson for us all!

The world and all that’s in it has no eternal value. It will hinder you from doing the will of God, and make you lose heaven. Are you guilty of all these three things? You can still retrace your steps and make amends. Tomorrow may be too late. Your salvation first, then read, study and meditate on God’s Word.

Live it, and continue to pray against the power of vain glory and every evil desire that can runbish your life and destroy your eternal destiny.

Associate with godly people, flee negative influences. Let the Holy Spirit be your teacher and mentor. Jesus is Lord!

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING:

1. Spirit of pride, die in my life, in the name of Jesus.

2. I refuse and reject friendship with the world in the name of Jesus.

3. I shall not be an enemy of God in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:

4. I dethrone flesh in my life and enthroned Jesus as the Lord of my life.

5. I shall not slaughter my eternity on the altar of worldly affairs in the name of Jesus.

6. Power to overcome Satan, the flesh and the world, possess me now, in the name of Jesus.

7. O God arise and help me to die to self and sin in my life in the name of Jesus.
