PRAISE and WORSHIP

A life of gratitude pays unquantifiable dividends. We shall look more at the benefits of giving God thanks today.
Another benefit of gratitude is that it brings peace. When we give thanks to God consistently, we will overcome worry and see His hand in all our circumstances. Besides, God assures us that when we give Him thanks, He will give us supernatural peace. Philippians 4:6-7 affirms this: “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Also, giving thanks or gratitude to God brings us closer to Him. Each time we thank God for His lovingkindness that is better than life and His compassion that fails not, we become more intimate with Him. In Luke 17: 17-19, the only leper (out of ten) who went back to Jesus to express his sincere and profound gratitude got closer to Jesus and earned the biggest blessing among the ten.

Moreover, gratitude brings contentment.

Lack of contentment is the undoing of many people. In the Bible, God’s anger was kindled against many Israelites who, rather than thank God for His goodness to them in their journey, complained and murmured against God and Moses, His servant. Such unthankful fellows perished in the wilderness. If we are not grateful for what God has given us, getting more will not satisfy us either. Being thankful is the key to contentment. That is why the Bible counsels us that “…godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing to this world, and neither can we carry anything out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these (1 Timothy 6: 6-8, NKJV).
Giving thanks to God helps to deepen our faith. Beloved, I encourage you to keep a record of God’s faithfulness in your life. Whenever you face a new challenge and you read or remembered them; your faith will be activated and boosted.
