FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 10:11-16 (KJV)
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 15 MESSAGE:-
Today’s devotional will focus on people who are leading the children of God in any capacity; either in a little way or on a larger scale. Are you a Christian father or a Christian mother? Are you a group or house leader? Are you leading any Christian group? Then, you have to carefully follow through today’s teaching. From the Fire Scripture, Jesus Christ introduces Himself as the Good Shepherd and also differentiates a Shepherd from a hireling.

A shepherd loves his flock dearly. He leads them to green pasture always. He watches over his flock day and night. A shepherd will rise to defend his sheep against attacks from predators like lions, wolves and bears. He is interested in the well-being of his flock whether they are young or old. He gently carries the sick ones and lovingly cares for them. He always has the best interest of his flock at heart.

The hireling is totally different. He is a bad leader of his flock. He destroys and scatters the sheep of God’s pasture and does not show any concern (Jer. 23:1-2). A hireling feeds himself fat at the expense of the sheep. He exploits the sheep; he does not nourish and feed the sheep with the diet. He does not encourage the sick ones. He does not show concern about the sheep that have been driven away. He does not care about those that are lost. He rules over the flock of God with force and cruelty (Ezekiel 34:1-4)

The hireling flees at the appearance of any danger and leaves the flock open to vicious attacks. The hireling does not show any commitment to the flock and does not care about the sheep. The hireling is in the shepherding vocation basically for what he can get and not for the welfare of the flock (John 10:12-13).

Are you a good shepherd like Jesus Christ our Master and Saviour or a selfish, undependable and uncaring hireling?

PRAYER POINTS:-

MORNING

1. Spirit of love, overwhelm my life, in the name of Jesus.

2. Every stronghold of the flesh in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Spirit of brokenness, humility and sobriety, saturate my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Anything in my life that cannot be found in Jesus Christ, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.

5. Blood of Jesus, destroy every bitter fountain flowing in my life, in the name of Jesus.

6. Battles of my father’s house attacking my glory, scatter, in the name of Jesus.

7. I plug my life into the socket of God’s power, in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I confess all my sin, have mercy on me, forgive me all my iniquity. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour.
