MOUNTAIN TOP LIFE, MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL, THURSDAY 21 OCTOBER 2021: Endurance

By Dr D.K Olukoya, General Overseer MFM worldwide

TOPIC FOR TODAY 21-10-21: Endurance

No matter how sharp razor blade is

Fire Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:1-4

Endurance is the ability to go through an unpleasant or difficult situation without giving way or giving up. As long as you are fulfilling your calling as a Christian, challenges will come, difficult situations will arise. The Bible says that those that will live godly in Christ will face persecution. What do you do when problems come your way?

As human beings, our tendency is to quit but the Bible encourages us to endure till the end so that we can receive the crown. From the text above, we gather that a Christian is called to be a soldier; not just ordinary but a good soldier. A soldier is a fighter who serves in the army of his country. He often faces a lot of hardship and is exposed to countless hazards and dangers.

A Christian should prepare for suffering that may come as a result of his calling. A Christian is called to a life of discipline like a soldier. He must not entangle himself with the affairs of this world. He is called to please God.

Soldiers often are taken from their homes and friends, exposed to cold or heat or storms and sometimes die in the process. If they are willing to do this for the love of their country, the soldier of cross should be willing to do it for his Saviour who laid down his life for him.

Beloved, what are you going through? Is it tribulation, distress, persecution, trial famine, nakedness, peril? The Bible says in all these, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

Always remember that the suffering of this present time cannot be compared with the joy being awaited by saints. If, however, you’re yet to surrender your life to Christ, you don’t have the inner power to sustain you in the battle of life. Surrender your life to God today and receive power of endurance to win in life.

Memory Verse:
2 Timothy 2:3 – Thou therefore endure hardness, as good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Motivational Quote:
To finish well, you must endure.

Prophetic Word:
Receive grace and strength to endure to the end, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Daily Devotional 21st October 2021 Thursday | HYMN:
Near The Cross

1. Jesus, keep me near the cross
There a precious fountain,
Free to all, a healing stream,
Flows from Calv’ry mountain.

Chorus
In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest, beyond the river.

2. Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Star
Sheds its beams around me.

3. Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help my walk from day to day
With its shadows o’er me.

4. Near the cross I’ll watch and wait,
Hoping trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand
Just beyond the river.
