TOPIC FOR TODAY 23-10-21: Sweeter than honey 1

7. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

9. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

10. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward.

THE WORD WILL ARISE AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE TO BEFOME A GENERATIONAL REFERENCE POINT, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:
God’s words and all the instructions, admonition, precepts, statutes, commands and guidelines contained in it are perfect and sweet to follow. They are a complete and effective guide for our daily living. There is no part of it that can be underplayed when applied to our lives, because His word always serves the purpose for which it was planned.

In our Memory verse, the Psalmist emphasised the sweetness of His words. Here we can say that the Psalmist discovered that God’s word is more precious than all the wealth in the world and whatever pleasure they hold for man.

The word of the Lord is nourishment for the soul, comfort for the hearts and balm for those that are hungry. The word is a complete palliative to every situation you can think of under the heavens. Men have spoken, but majority of the time, their words end up a lie and empty promises, but God’s word will fill the void in your heart and feed your hungry soul.

The word of the Lord instils joy in the heart. All the pronouncements, judgement and precepts of the Lord are a delight to the soul of man. God’s word strengthens, encourages, comforts and nourishes man’s soul.

It is the bread of life that never goes stale. It is life to those that find it and health or medicine to all their flesh. It provides illumination for those in darkness and serves as compass for Christian pilgrims.

How important is the word of God to you and your life? The day you fully appreciate the inestimable value and benefits of God’s word and you make it your life’s greatest companion is the day you begin to enjoy the best that heaven has to offer all saints. Everything you need for abundance and the fulfilment of your destiny are available in God’s word.

Won’t you rather trust and act on His word? David said in Psalm 34:8a, “O taste and see that the Lord is good.” What are you waiting for? Taste it now, and you will discover that His word is sweeter than the honey and the honey comb.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. O God, my Father, let Your word find a dwelling place in my heart, in the name of Jesus.

2. My Lord and my God, make Your word my rule, in the name of Jesus.

3. Thou light of God, penetrate my heart and drive away darkness in my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Every idol in my heart, working against the word of God, come out and die, in the name of Jesus.

5. Power to be receptive to the word of God, enter into my heart, in the name of Jesus.

6. Every enemy of God in my life, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.

7. My Father, give me the grace to act on Your word, in the name of Jesus.
