MFM 2024: OUR YEAR OF OPEN DOORS & DIVINE SPEED

MFM Topic for Tue, 02~~~01~~~24: how to worship God acceptably

An encounter with the Lord beginning  through daily devotion is the best way to start your day, it will give you extraordinary strength to overcome the day’s challenges and also give you uncommon divine success, in the name of Jesus.

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 02~~~01~~~24

PRAISE & WORSHIP:

1 O worship the King all-glorious above,
O gratefully sing his power and his love:
our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.

2 O tell of his might and sing of his grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path on the wings of the storm.

3 Your bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

4 Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in you do we trust, nor find you to fail.
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

5 O measureless Might, unchangeable Love,
whom angels delight to worship above!
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze,
in true adoration shall sing to your praise!

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 4, Genesis 5, Genesis 6; Matthew 4; Matthew 5; Matthew 6

MEMORY VERSE 4:23 –
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

MOTIVATION QUOTE:
Worship is giving God the best that He has given you. Be careful what you do with the best you have. Whenever you get a blessing from God, give Him the best.

02~~~01~~~24 ROPHETIC WORD:
Henceforth, your worship shall be acceptable to God and handsomely rewarded, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 4:5-26 [NKJV]

So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given youliving water.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?

12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,

14 butwhoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”

17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.”

Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’

18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”

19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jewssay that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”

26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.

02~~~01~~~24 MESSAGE:

One timeless truth that every Christian should know is that worship is central to our existence and relationship with God, our creator. He loves and rewards worship and we need to make it our  preoccupation on earth, just as the spirit beings in heaven do.

Since many believers miss out on the blessings attached to worship because they know very little about what it is and how it is done, today, we will turn our attention to learning how to worship God, using the Holy Bible as our guide. I have the strong conviction that once our knowledge as to how to worship God correctly is – increased and enriched, we will access more of His blessings and our lives will fully show forth His glory.

The Bible tells us to worship the Lord in spirit and truth [John 4:23], through the Bible [John 4:23], through prayer [Psalm 141:2], through thanksgiving [Hebrew 13:15], through worship [Psaim 104: 33], through remembrance [Psalm 103:2] through your testimony and witnessing [Acts 1:8, Psalm 150:2], through serving others [Mark 10:44-45, 1 Peter 4:10, Galatians 5:13], through your words.

Let your words bring glory to God [Colossians 3:17, Psalm 71:18], through marveling at God’s creation [Psalm 19:1], through body expression such as lifting hands [Psalm 141:2], clapping hands [Psalm 47:1], bowing down [Psalm 95:6], dancing [Psalm 149:3].

The Bible says that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and we should glorify God with our bodies [I Corinthians 6:19-20 and Romans 12:1], through memorizing the Bible [Proverbs 3:1, Psalm 1:2], through confession of sins [1 John 1:9], through obedience [John 14-15], through giving [2 Corinthians 9:7], through fellowship and serving the church community [Colossians 3:16], through work [Colossians 3:23-24], through your life [1 Corinthians 10:31], by sharing your faith [1 Peter 2:9], by using your gifts and talents for Him [Exodus 35:35], with humility [James 4:10], with joy [Philippians 4:4], with reverence and awe.

On this, Hebrews 12:28 says: “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace,  whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”

Beloved, make the worship of God your priority and preoccupation this year.
