PRAISE & WORSHIP:

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

MEMORY VERSE: ACTS 13:2-
“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul! for the work whereunto I have called them.”

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
No one can effectively engage in evangelism and mission without the backing of the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR SUN 4:
I prophesy upon you that the Holy Spirit will set your life ablaze and fill you with passion for souls, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: ACTS 13:1-5-
Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

SUN 4 FEB MESSAGE:
It has been reported that in the world, one hundred and fifty people die every minute; six thousand, three hundred and sixteen peopie die every hour and one hundred and fifty-one thousand, six hundred people die every day. If you multiply this by thirty days, a month and three hundred and sixty-five days a year, you will understand how many people die in a year.

The most painful thing about this is that significant percentage of those who die are without Jesus Christ and therefore end up in hell fire for eternal punishment.

The good news, however, is that it is not the will of God that any should perish. Therefore, He sent His only Beloved Son to die for the sin of mankind. When Jesus came, He went about preaching the gospel of the Kingdom through the power of the Holy Spirit and He also chose twelve disciples and another seventy to do the evangelistic assignment.

Before His ascension, He gave His disciples throughout all generations the great commission of preaching the gospel to the people of the world. But the gospel can only be preached effectively through the help and support of the Holy Spirit.

Beloved, you need to understand that mission and evangelism are the heartbeat of God. Jesus was passionately committed to that noble task after the Holy Spirit descended upon Him. He even warned His disciples not to venture into any form of Kingdom service until they are endued with power from on high.

Hence, the disciples tarried in obedience until the Holy Spirit came upon them. And right from that time, the Holy Spirit became the Director General of the Church’s mission and evanglistic commitments.

We have read in our Fire Scripture how the Holy Spirit instructed the Antioch church to set apart Barnabas and Saul (later known as Paul) for the missionary assignment He had for them.

The lesson here is that any church, any Christian organisation or any believer who desires to make a significant impact in mission and evangelism must actively involve the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING:

O Lord, I thank You for the opportunity to serve in Your Kingdom in the name of Jesus.

2. Holy Spirit, empower me afresh, in the name of Jesus.

3. As I go out today, O Lord, let my life be a blessing to others, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. I refuse to be a deficit to the Kingdom of God, in the name of Jesus.

5. My life, receive fresh fire from the throne of God, in the name of Jesus.

6. Powers assigned to strike me and my household, receive the judgement of death, in the name of Jesus.

7. Holy Spirit, make me Your battle axe, in the name of Jesus.
