MFM Topic for Sat 24~~~2~~~24: hallmarks of true discipleship (1)

Beloved! Remember Bridges and walls are made with the same materials. But though Bridge joins the people, But Wall divides the people. Are you a Bridge that link people together or you are a Wall that separates people.

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 24~~`2~~~24

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

2 All to Jesus I surrender,

Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine. [Refrain]

3 All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. [Refrain]

Deuteronomy 10, Deuteronomy 11, Deuteronomy 12; 2 Corinthians 10, 2 Corinthians 11

MEMORY VERSE: Luke 14: 27

“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”

Your supreme duty as a disciple of Jesus is to help others find, follow and  fully become like Christ.

24~~~2~~~24 PROPHETIC WORD:
Receive the grace and anointing to win disciples for the Royal Master, Jesus Christ, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 9: 10-17 (KJV)
And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

24~~~2~~~24 MESSAGE:
Becoming born again is one of the experiences you can ever have. However, it only marks the beginning of the journey of your new life in Christ. It also comes with some demands. One of them is that you (the saved soul) should proceed to become a disciple of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Besides, believers and the body of Christ as a whole owe it to God to disciple young converts and others who are yet to become disciples. God’s command for global evangelism to every believer is to go, preach the gospel and make disciples of all nations. However, it takes a disciple to make others disciples.

Are you a true disciple of Christ? Let us examine the hallmarks of true disciples of Jesus Christ.

First, true disciples of Jesus take their cross and follow Him. In Luke 14:27, the Bible says, then Jesus said, “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” That is, they must be willing to endure hardship, persecution, execution and be willing to go with and for Christ wherever He leads or sends them.

Second, true disciples remain in the Lord’s word. A major hallmark of true disciples is that they take God’s word as the final authority and remain in it at all times and in all circumstances. What Jesus said to the Jews who believed in Him in John 8:31, is the same thing He is saying to you today, if ye continue in my word, then ye are my disciples indeed.”

Third, true disciples of Jesus love one another. The Bible underscores this in John 13:35 when Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye love one to another.” We can fulfil this commandment of love by participating in others’ needs (Matthew 25:35; Romans 12:13), serving one another in love (Galatians 5:13) and by forgiving one another (Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:13).

Fourth, true disciples of Jesus follow the Master’s instructions. In Acts 9:10-17, the Lord instructed his disciple Ananias to go to Saul of Tarsus and pray for him to receive his sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ananias carried out the Lord’s instruction to the letter.

I pray that the grace to become Christ’s true disciple will be yours as from today, in the name of Jesus.

1. Father, help me to be a good disciple for Your kingdom and give me the grace to disciple others, in the name of Jesus.

2. Father, reveal to me my weaknesses and give me the strength to grow in these areas so that I can be  a better example to those that I disciple, in the name of Jesus.

3. O God, help me to advance Your Kingdom everyday, in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, give me the grace to carry my cross and follow or go wherever You send me, in the name of Jesus.

5. O Lord, give me the heart of true love for my fellow believers, in the name of Jesus.

6. Lord, make me a disciple that loves and lives by Your word, in the name of Jesus.

7. My Lord, help me to always follow Your instructions to the letter, in the name of Jesus.
