MFM Topic, Mon 4 March 2024: Keep on believing [2]

Beloved! Remember Bridges and walls are made with the same materials. But though Bridge joins the people, But Wall divides the people. Are you a Bridge that link people together or you are a Wall that separates people.

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 4 March 24

Once again the Gospel message
From the Savior you have heard;
Will you heed the invitation?
Will you turn and seek the Lord?

Come believing! come believing!
Come to Jesus! look and live!
Come believing! come believing!
Come to Jesus! look and live!

2 Many summers you have wasted,
Ripened harvests you have seen;
Winter snows by spring have melted,
Yet you linger in your sin. [Refrain]

3 Jesus for your choice is waiting;
Tarry not: at once decide!
While the Spirit now is striving,
Yield, and seek the Savior’s side. [Refrain]

4 Cease of fitness to be thinking;
Do not longer try to feel;
It is trusting, and not feeling,
That will give the Spirit’s seal. [Refrain]

5 Let your will to God be given,
Trust in Christ’s atoning blood;
Look to Jesus now in Heaven,
Rest on His unchanging Word. [Refrain]

Joshua 3, Joshua 4, Joshua 5; Philippians 3, Philippians 4

MEMORY VERSE Hebrews 10:36 -“For ye have need of patience, that, after that ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

With persistent faith, you will fulfil your colourful destiny.

Receive the grace to keep believing God in good and bad times, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 18:41-44
And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.

Yesterday, we emphasised that every believer needs to demonstrate persistent faith. Some battles will not be won and some problems will not be solved unless you demonstrate persistent and rock-life faith — one that continues to believe God in the face of trials and temptations that span a long time. We added that such was the kind of faith that Abraham and Sarah exhibited before they got Isaac. It was the kind of faith that got Samuel for Hannah. It is the kind of faith you need today.

Beloved, the devil knows that your victory is tied to your unwavering and persistent faith. That is why he attacks believer’s faith. He did it to the patriarchs, he did it to Jesus,  Apostles Peter and Paul, among the others. On one occasion, Jesus told Peter that the enemy wanted his faith to fail (Luke 22:31-32) so as to truncate his ministry and destiny as well as the glorious things the Lord would use him for later in his life.

Thank God that Jesus prayed for Peter and aborted the devil’s agenda. Dear reader, no matter what the enemy brings your way, don’t allow your faith to fail or waver. Keep on believing our all-powerful and ever-faithful God. He still answers prayers; trust his timing also and He will come through for you, in Jesus’ name.

Do not give up on your dream or vision. Do not lose faith. The faith that fails never produces good result. Keep on believing. Elijah prayed for the rain that God had promised. He prayed with precision and with passion, but the answer did not come straight away. He sent his servant to look toward the sea for a sign of rain. At the seventh time, the servant saw a little cloud the size of a man’s hand. Rain eventually fell after seven years of drought. Praying seven times indicates persistence in Elijah’s faith (1 Kings 18:41-44).

Though anointed, David did not get to the throne for several years. As he went through tests and trials, he kept believing God and He made good His promise to him in due time. Similarly, Joseph got the dream of his colourful destiny from God as a teenager; yet, for over a decade, he went through trials before God intervened and fulfilled his dream in grand style.

1. I will keep on believing because God still answers prayers, in the name of Jesus.

2. Father, give me the grace that is big enough to take me to my promised land, in the name of Jesus.

3. I receive the grace to be unstoppable and to slay giants, in the name of Jesus.

4. Father, give me the faith of Elijah to lock and open the heavens, in the name of Jesus.

9. Father, give me the faith that enthroned David in spite of the challenges and oppositions he faced, in the name of Jesus.

6. My Father, give me the persevering and dream-fulfilling faith that you gave Joseph, in the name of Jesus.

7. O God arise and answer Your name in my life, in the name of Jesus.
