MFM Topic for Fri 02××××02××××24: sacrificial giving [2]

Welcome to MFM Devotional, 02××××02××××24

PRAISE & WORSHIP:

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live. I surrender all,
I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

2 All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

3 All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

4 All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

5 All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame.
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
LEVITICUS 7, LEVITICUS 8, LEVITICUS 9; ACTS 8, ACTS 9, ACTS 10

MEMORY VERSE: JOHN 3:16-
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
SACRIFICIAL GIVING IS THE KEY TO  ABRAHAM’S BLESSINGS.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR 2 FEB:
From today, transgenerational blessings are yours, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 8:1-9

Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

FRI 2 FEB MESSAGE:

God is the greatest sacrificial giver. He laid down sacrificial giving as a scriptural principle when He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ as an atoning sacrifice to redeem the lost mankind. The Son of God became the son of man so that the sons of men might become sons of God. God gave His most prized-possession, His best.

It was a gift that cost Him so much but with the sacrifice, He was able to bring the whole world back to Himself. It was a sacrifice that cost God something huge. It was motivated by love. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Jesus gave sacrificially too. He gave us Himself. He died in our place and gave us abundant and eternal life. His coming to earth cost Him his throne, crown glory and life. His giving was motivated by sacrificial
and self-sacrificing love. Though He was rich, Jesus became poor for our sake (2 Corinthians 8:9).

The Macedonian church gave sacrificially and Paul advised the Corinthian Christians to follow their example. This is because though the Macedonians were poor themselves, they gave more than what was expected of them. They gave as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation. They pleaded.with Paul to take their money and use it to help their fellow Christians (2 Corinthians 8:1-5).

The basic lessons God wants you to learn on sacrificial giving and practise regularly are as follows:
(1) It is not truly sacrificial giving if it does not cost you something and hurt you.
(2) Don’t give left-over and  expect God to give you treasures.
(3) Anything worth giving is worth giving well.
(4) The more you give, the bigger you will become.
(5) Give sacrificially out of love and as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation.

Beloved, poverty will become a thing of the past in your life, the moment you replace stinginess and selfishness towards God with sacrificial giving. Change your attitude towards giving today and heaven will give you pleasant surprises.

Life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Father, I thank You for being my best example of sacrificial giving, in the name of Jesus.

2. Lord Jesus, I thank You for the greatest gift of Yourself.

3. Father, teach me to give out of love and generosity, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Henceforth, Father, give me the right attitude towards giving, in the name of Jesus.

9. Powers holding me back from giving sacrificially, die, in the name of Jesus.

6. As I give sacrificially to the Lord, I command the spirit of poverty assigned against my life to die, in the name of Jesus.

7. Heavens over my life, hear the word of the Lord, open by fire, in the name of Jesus.
