Read Exodus 10:13-19

MEMORISE: Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided (Exodus 14:21).

EXPOSITION
Wind is one of the instruments used by God. It brings blessings, but may also come with curses. It is “air moving across the surface of the planet or through the atmosphere at a speed fast enough to be noticed.” So says the Microsoft Encarta Dictionary. This is very relevant on this World Meteorological Day. What wind brings depends on which type of wind God chooses to send at a given point in time, and for which purpose He is sending such. For instance, when Egypt chose to maltreat God’s people, God sent the east wind to the land of Egypt and it brought locust that caused great damages and losses to the Egyptians (Exod. 10:13ff).

The east wind, to Egypt, was destructive. God sent it to teach the Egyptians who had chosen to be His enemies lessons as regards His indisputable supremacy over all, though in a very hard way. This same east wind that brought disaster, anguish, and calamities upon the Egyptians made way for the Israelites in the Red Sea. What a great God! The same wind serving different purposes for two different people, in line with God’s redemptive programme!
The north wind is said to bring rain (Prov. 25:23). It also brings storm. All the winds from God can bring hotness and coldness; they can be gentle or strong in form of storm (Eccl. 1:6). To those on the side of God, the wind refreshes them while it destroys His enemies. It brings blessings to as many as have Him as their Lord, and calamity, pains, agony, anguish, etc. to those who chose to be His enemies. What do you wish God’s wind brings to you?
The wind from the Lord can shatter and uproot kingdoms and powers that are against Him. It is tremendously powerful. It shatters all that comes in its way. It can also blow to gather, instead of scattering. Where you stand determines what His wind would bring to you. God doesn’t desire that His wind destroys. That is why you must be on His side by accepting the finished work in Christ Jesus. Don’t tread the path of destruction in your relationship with Him. Only then can you be free from the devil’s onslaught and manipulations. Who you are in God determines what you get from Him.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Pray that God will send His wind of blessing to you and your household.

2. Pray that you will not engage in anything that will make you incur the wrath of God.

3. Pray that God will send His wind into our various churches to uproot every spirit and power that is against the course of righteousness.
