Following his ability to use the trumpet for 25 hours and 30 minutes, a member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Joshua Olusanya, has emerged the first person to win the Guinness World Record in Longest Marathon Trumpet Blowing, which he played for 25 hours, 30 minutes and 36 seconds. He achieved the record in Lagos on 9th May 2025.

Sharing his testimony in the just concluded two in one programme, Power Must Change Hands and Annual Water of Fire Service, which took place in MFM Prayer City on Saturday 5 July 2025, Joshua told the large gathering of members that were physically present and those that joined through online, that last year, he attempted the longest playing time of the trumpet in the world but his attempt was disqualified because of a technical error.

“I was heart-broken, it was painful for me, seeing the number of efforts that I put into it and I was disqualified. However, I was not discouraged and this year, I sought the guidance of our father in the Lord (Dr. Daniel Olukoya), who, instructed me to first of all cut off my dreads. This was a very tough decision for me; I can actually say that was one of the toughest decisions to take in my life. Then I consulted my parents, told them about this and my parents said that, ‘For your spiritual victory, obey our daddy in the Lord.’ It took me some days to decide to obey the instruction of our father in the Lord; I cut my dreads and went back to tell my father in the Lord that I have cut my dreads and he prayed for me.”
Later that night, Joshua revealed that he had a dream in which he experienced a mighty deliverance upon his life, where he was broken out of bondage. The next day, all the companies he had earlier approached for sponsorship for the second attempt that turned him down, started requesting to sponsor him. With this, he was encouraged to contest for the world record again.

“This time, I believe that really, God was involved. The first one was through me and the efforts that I had put into it but this time around, I am putting God first.
“Few days to the attempt, I spoke with our daddy in the Lord, saying, ‘Daddy, please, pray for me, sir’ and daddy prayed for me and we attempted the record again. This time around, I experienced divine strength. I played for 25 hours, 30 minutes and 36 seconds. Something happened even after the 25 hours and 30 minutes, I was supposed to have a little break and then come back and play for another one hour to keep going but then, I saw that my team had stopped the recording, thinking that I was done and that time, I did not know where the strength was coming from and I was willing to continue playing for the next 25 hours.”

After the whole attempt, it was time for the submission of the attempt to the Guinness World Record, which is the most critical part of this attempt.
According to Olusanya, “I started uploading my attempt and I didn’t allow any of my team members to do it. This, I want to do myself, because I do not want my team to make a mistake. Then I remembered that this time last year, I was in this same office where this thing happened and they disqualified the attempt. I was like, ‘O God, I do not want to be disqualified and I picked my phone and called my father in the Lord, and said, ‘Daddy, I’m at it again; I have finished the recording and I am uploading but I’m so afraid, that I do not want to be disqualified again. I have put a lot of efforts into this. I have put in three years on this work, wanting to be the first one to make this record in the world.’ Daddy told me that ‘affliction will never rise again. Don’t be afraid, keep on loading the evidence,’ and he prayed for me.”
To the glory of God, three days after, he received an email from the Guinness World Records, which bore ‘Approved’. He said his mind skipped, because from the Guinness Group of Records, the only response you get is either an approval or disqualification.
“The moment I saw approved, I knew that was it. Now, I believe that with God, all things are possible. After the approval, I told my father in the Lord about it and daddy said, ‘Don’t you know that there is no success without God?’ this shows that this attempt was beyond human capacity; I stressed divine intervention than never before. I have never experienced God in this way,” the excited record holder revealed.
Olusanya furthermore said, “I stand before you today, to appreciate God in our father in the Lord, I’m so honoured for his guidance, for his prayers, for his commitment and for raising a young talent. To the glory of God, officially, to the glory of God, I am the first holder of the Guinness World Record in this category. Today again, I am in this service with the Guinness World Records certificate which I want to dedicate to the Lord God and our father in the Lord and this achievement is for the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.
“To appreciate and honour our daddy and mummy in the Lord, I am dedicating this award from the Guinness World Record to them. I officially requested for this from the Guinness World Record, I am honoured and pleased to present this world record to them,” he declared.
Guinness World Records, formerly known as The Guinness Book of Records, is an annual reference book that documents human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. It’s a collection of recognized world records and a popular publication, with over 150 million copies sold worldwide.
