TEXT: Genesis 12:1-9

KEY VERSE: “So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.” – (Genesis 12:4)

Sir Leonard Wood was visiting the king of France. The king was pleased with him and invited him to dinner the next day. He went. But the king said, “Sir Leonard, I did not expect to see you. How is it that you are here?” “Did not your majesty invite me to dine with you?” “Yes, but you did not answer my invitation.” Leonard Wood ended the king’s interrogation by answering, “A king’s invitation is never to be answered, but to be obeyed.”

Two things stand out in Abraham’s life: his faith and obedience. The Lord called him out of the comfort zone of his people, and he obeyed and left. Abram took his wife, his nephew Lot and all his possessions and went towards the direction God led him. This was a practical demonstration of his belief and trust in God’s promises. It is impossible for us to discover new territories if we are unwilling to leave our present shores. This is where many will have to borrow a leaf from Abraham.

Some people have rejected the call unto salvation because they do not intend to quit their jobs or sources of income, which might be ungodly. Others await their worldly friends and family members to approve of their decisions before they comply. The encouragement is for us to take a leap of faith and demonstrate true obedience. We also need to trust the Lord’s promise to liberate us. We should burn the bridge behind us so there will be no turning back to the world as we press on in obedience to God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Obedience leads to fulfilment of God’s promises.
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 11-13

SPECIAL NOTE!

Salvation of your soul is very vital to God.

Beloved Reader, Remember! John 3:3 says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless ye are born again, ye cannot see the kingdom of God.”

If you are ready to give your life to Christ Jesus, please pray the displayed prayer below in faith:

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I confess all my sin, have mercy on me, forgive me all my sin. Lord Jesus come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe in my heart You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You Lord for saving me, in Jesus name Amen.

If you just prayed the prayer of salvation! Congratulations! You are now born again. You need to belong to a Bible-Believing Church where you can know more. For testimonies, counselling, prayer requests:

Our prayer is: any power or any problem that will kill our love for God, blood of Jesus shall destroy and flush them away from us, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Thank you for your patient with us. And thank you for all your comments, observations, feedbacks and time spent on this platform. We cherish your presence here.

Beloved! We are in perilous time when kidnappings, banditry and other vices have become daily occurrences. But the Lord is saying, do not be afraid! Be strong in the Lord! Be bold & be courageous!

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you shall not be a victim to whatever calamity flying around by day or by night, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Shalom!
