Battle against Naira abusers has started, get ready for prosecution, like  Bobrisky-EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday issued a warning against the mutilation of naira notes.

EFCC stated that anyone who decided not to comply with the warning was at the risk of being convicted.

This is coming after the agency received backlashes for securing the conviction of Idris Okuneye, popular crossdresser known as Bobrisky and sparing other prominent Nigerians for the same offence.

In a social media post published by the agency on Friday, the EFCC stated that anyone who decided not to comply with the warning was at the risk of being convicted.

The agency wrote, “Say No To Abuse of the Naira. If preaching will not send the message, conviction will. #EFCCNigeria #SayNoToAbuseoftheNaira

Reacting to this, the Delta State Command spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe said the same energy would channelled towards combating cyberstalking in the country.

He wrote, “Naira mutilation!!! Justice has taken its course. Next up might be cyberstalking, let’s do our best to be careful, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and fake news are other challenges that people take for granted, learn now so that others will not learn from your own mistake/misfortune.”
