Could this be true! 18 aspirants under APC have paid N100m each, that the party has raked in N1.730bn so far?
Allcitynews.ng learnt that despite the public outcries against the huge sums, N100 million, demanded from interested politicians to buy a form to enable them contest for one seat in Aso Rock, the numbers are multiplying on daily basis.
Just one party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has raked in N1.6 billion from would be contestants for one seat in Aso Rock.
The newest entrant into the race on Friday is Dimeji Bankole, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, who declared his intent to be the flagbearer of the ruling party.
When APC came out with demand for N100 million, it generated controversy. APC pegged the costs for its expression of interest and presidential nomination forms at N30 million and N70 million respectively (N100 million total price).
As the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has extended the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2023 general election to Tuesday, May 10, 2022, some aspirants may likely join as the deadline is drawing closer.
