Motorists and commuters are groaning and lamenting the continued stress they are going through because of the kind of snail-speed work Julius Berger is subjecting along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

As the reconstruction by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) entered 10 years, (July 2013) commuters are call for revocation of Julius Berger over shoddy and sluggish reconstruction work it is doing everywhere.

However, while Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) has finished its own side of the reconstruction with solid materials, Julius Berger is yet to complete half of the portion.

Speaking with allcitynews.ng, a cross section of the commuters called for withdrawal of Julius Berger from scheme of things in Nigeria by Federal Government.

According to Adelani Mutario, from Magboro, to Secretariat which used to take nine minutes drive is now taking five hours.

And on his part, Rafiu Belahu, who also from Magboro blamed Julius Berger for refusal to construct alternative route by the sides of the long bridge to reduce the stress.

Likewise, Kelvin Chris, the driver of the Seinna car, Julius Berger have subjected people into untold hardship by the style it is using without creating alternative roads by the sides of the Long Bridge.

Citing the spoiling of jobs already done by Julius Berger as reason for their call, Kelvin, Belahu and Mutario in seperate interviews accused Julius Berger of using inferior materials as alignments for the bridge. Part of bridge which they claimed to have finished have already getting damaged by movements of vehicles.

Many but unreported accidents, resulting in deaths mostly on motorcycles {okadas} have been daily happenings along this route. This route is the most busiest road in Nigeria because it is the only one linking Lagos State, the former Federal Capital to 36 states.

The reconstruction started in 2013.
