Will Israeli leader, Netanyahu sign propsed bill criminalising preaching of Jesus Christ?

The move by two lawmakers to bring punitive measure against anyone that preaches or spreads the Good News of the Lordship of Jesus may sound unbelievable, however, that move is hard to believe considering the fact that same soil happened to be the birthplace, nurturing and earthly ministry of Jesus Christ is would make such law more unimaginable.

Will the Prime Minister sucumb to pressure to sign such bill into law?

Christians should be rest assured that such move should not affect their faith, as this is not the first attempt. Past records showed how some Jewish people in the past tried to reject Jesus is a confirmation that a prophet is not honoured in his home.

As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to block the planned law being sponsored by Moshe Gafni and Yaakov Asher, two ultra-Orthodox Jewish members of Knesset.

Their attempt is not new as past records revealed failed attempts by then notable Israelite leaders who tried to criminalise the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. For instance, in the New Testament Jesus was rejected. Jesus was rejected in Judaism as a failed Jewish messiah claimant and a false prophet by some Jewish denominations. Thus, the current move to wrap preaching and spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ with one year jail term or two years jail term if the person being preached to is a minor [18 years and below] is
being delayed by Prime Minister Netanyahu, may no longer be fresh or surprising news to most people.

Additionally, it would be remembered that most people, including some Jewish people, some countries and people across the world, for over two thousand years, rejected the claim that Jesus fulfilled the Messianic prophecies of the Hebrew Bible, as well as the dogmatic claims about Him made by the church fathers – that He was born of a Virgin Mary, that He is the Son of God, that He is part of a Divine Trinity, and that He resurrected after His death, have for years, been under condemnation and denial by those whose souls have been sealed against salvation.

It would be recalled that two Knesset members propose legislation to outlaw sharing the Gospel in Israel and send violators to prison, but Netanyahu, has for now delay or rejected the bill from becoming a law.

Notably, both are members of United Torah Judaism (UTJ), a Haredi (highly religious) political party holding a total of seven out of 120 seats in the current Knesset.

And both are influential voices, and important votes, inside the 64-seat governing coalition led by Netanyahu.

But is it possible that the Israeli government being led by Netanyahu, this year 2023,few days to Palm Sunday, the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. would pass such legislation making it illegal for people to share the Gospel message in the very land where Jesus was born, raised, preached, died, buried and rose from the dead?

As 2023 Palm Sunday and Easter approach, the two most sacred days on the calendar for those who follow Jesus Christ as both God and Messiah, the two members of the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) introducing a bill that would ban any and all efforts to tell people about Jesus, should not shake the faith of Believers.
