Why British Govt cautioned its citizens against travelling to these 12 states in Nigeria

In apparent bid to protect its people from danger, British Government has warned and refrain its citizens against going into 12 states in Nigeria.

The warning through its Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) became imperative following the events to mark the one year anniversary of #EndSARS protests and other insecurity threats across the country.

In a statement updated October 15, 2021 on its website: lamentably expressed concern over protests and cautioned against travelling to:

1. Borno state.
2. Yobe state
3. Adamawa state
4. Gombe state
5. Kaduna state
6. Katsina state
7. Zamfara state.
8. Riverine areas of Delta state
9. Bayelsa state
10.Rivers state
11. Akwa Ibom state
12. Cross River state.

While UK also advised against frequency of travelling to:
1. Bauchi state
2. Kano state
3. Jigawa state
4. Niger state
5. Sokoto state
6. Kogi state
7. Within 20km of the border with Niger in Kebbi state
8. Abia state
9. Non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers states.
