TOPIC FOR TODAY: 16-8-21: Who do you represent ?
By Pastor E. A Adeboye, President, Christ the Redeemer’s Ministries.
MEMORISE: 1 Peter 2:9
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;”
READ: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (KJV)
18. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us; we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
From the beginning of creation God has designed man to be His representative on the earth. Man was created to act on behalf of God on the earth. Genesis 1:26 says:
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. – (Genesis 1:26)
Man was relieved of his duty as a result of sin and lost all the privileges that should ordinarily have been easily his. However, the Almighty God offers us salvation through Jesus Christ who said in Matthew 11:28-30:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
As many as respond to this call become Christ’s Ambassadors – representing Him everywhere on the earth. This was the authority the early disciples had and one of the apostles wrote in our text of today:
And all things are of God who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation…Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. – (2 Corinthians 5:18,20)
Beloved, are you a representative of Christ or the devil? Your response to Christ’s call will determine whose representative you are, according to our memory verse today. It is a good thing to be a representative of the Almighty God here on earth; the benefits are innumerable ranging from the spiritual to the physical. What is expected of us is to live according to our calling – not to disgrace the One who has called us but show forth His praise.
I pray that you will not miss it as the first man did, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINT: Father, please give me the grace to be Your true ambassador at all times in Jesus’ name.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 105-107
SPECIAL NOTE!
Beloved Reader, the best way to enjoy best of God is to make Jesus Christ your personal Lord & Saviour. And remember! John 3:3 says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless ye are born again, ye cannot see the kingdom of God.”
If you are ready to give your life to Christ Jesus, please pray the displayed prayer below in faith:
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I confess all my sin, have mercy on me, forgive me all my sin. Lord Jesus come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe in my heart You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You Lord for saving me, in Jesus name Amen.
Beware! This Scripture: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold,” Matt 24:12, is being fulfilled in our time. Our prayer is: any power or any problem that will kill our love for God, blood of Jesus will destroy and flush them away from us, in Jesus name.
Good Day, we cherish your presence here. Thank you for your comments, observations, feedbacks and time spent on this platform.
Beloved! We are in perilous time when kidnappings, banditry and other vices have become daily occurrences. But the Lord is saying, fear not, be bold & be courageous!
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you shall not be a victim to whatever calamity flying around by day and by night, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Shalom!
