NUEE vows to paralyse TCN business nationwide over refusal to pay workers’ entitlements

The leadership of organised labour in electricity industry, National Union of Electricity Employees of Nigeria (NUEE) has vowed to paralyse businesses of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) nationwide over anti-masses activities.

The General Secretary, Comrade Joe Ajaero who made the call of the mobilisation for the picketing call cited wrong directive by the management for the picketing.

“You are hereby enjoined to mobilise immediately for a serious
picketing of TCN Hcadquarters and Stations nationwide over the
dircctive by the TCN Board that all PMs in acting capacity going to AGM must appear for promotion interview.

“This directive is in contravention of our Conditions of Service and
Career Progression Paths, and unilaterally done without the relevant Stakeholders.”

“Stigmatization of Staff from the office of the Head of Service of the
Federation from working in other areas in the Power Sector. Refusal of the Market Operator to fund the payment of entitlement of Ex-PHCN Staff as agreed in December 2019 agreement after an industrial action by the Union.

This action takes effect from Tuesday 16th August, 2022 and total withdrawal of services commences on Wednesday 17th August, 2022. Ensure full compliance in all the stations nationwide.
