More Nigerians have continue to react to the judgement by Justice Shotunde Shotayo of Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun State.

Speaking with allcitynews.ng, at Lekki-Ajah expressroad, Mr Emeka Emeka on Tuesday 29 March 2022, commended Justice Shotunde over her judgement.

Moreover Emeka said “At least  punishment given to Mrs Biola Joshua, is very nice one. This punishment will act as deterrent for all those parents who are ignorantly or in arrogantly indulging the children into wayward unruly ways.”

In addition, Emeka noted that indiscipline in schools and in society came to peak when government took over missionary schools. That action brought down the discipline which was one of the good things in missionary schools.

On his own part, Captain Lasisi while commending Justice Shotunde
for her judgment said he wondered why parents are now encouraging their children into misbehavioural attitude by going into schools to confront their teachers.

“I was in the boarding school where three of my children are. As I was there, a girl whispered into the ears of my youngest child. I observed she squeezed her face. I demanded to know why she frowned her face after the whispering. She told me that her class teacher who is always fond of sending her on errands again wanted her to buy something for her.

“I told her to be glad that her teacher picked her out of other students for errands. It means the teacher has trust and reliance on you. She perhaps thought that I would have frowned at what her teacher did.”

Futhermore, Lasisi said “If it has been some people they would have frowned at their child or children being sent on errands in schools. That is how some parents are indirectly indulging their children into unruly way.”

It would be recalled that a woman, a housewife, Mrs Biola Joshua, invaded the school of her son with hired thugs because her son was disciplined in the school.

The judgement by Justice Shotunde was that the 40 years old mother should clean the compound of the school, Iju-Ebiye High School for six months.

The police had arrested Joshua after she invaded the school with others at large and beat the principal and one other person for scolding her son.

The police later dragged her before the magistrate’s court and charged her with conspiracy, assault and breach of peace.

Delivering his ruling, Magistrate Shotunde Shotayo, ordered the convict to sweep the school from 8am to 11am every day.
