BIBLE reading in ONE YEAR:-Leviticus 19, Leviticus 20, Mark 14:43-72, Psalm 6:30-35.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Samuel 5:17-25 (KJV).

17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

19 And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The Lord hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

23 And when David enquired of the Lord, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the Lord go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

25 And David did so, as the Lord had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

MEMORY VERSE: “One of the prophets wrote, “God will teach all of them.” And so everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him will come to me.” – John 6:45

We often miss God’s voice because we are not paying attention when He speaks.

I speak woe unto every spiritual blockage in your spiritual pipeline, in the name of Jesus.

Mountain Top Life Message:

For the past two days, we have been considering hearing God’s voice. Today, we are looking at the benefits of hearing the voice of God. In our Fire Scripture, we read about David and how he inquired from God before going into battle against the Philistines.

Firstly, hearing God’s voice will make things to go right with you. How could David get such a clear message from God? He inquired from God in prayer. David fought the battle the way God instructed him to. So, beloved, if you want things to go right with you, inquire from God, listen to His guidance and follow it conscientiously.

Secondly, hearing God’s voice will lead you to establish a deep and intimate relationship with Christ. He becomes your Shepherd and you, His sheep, leading you, feeding and guiding you through life. In John 6:45, Jesus stressed the importance of not merely hearing His voice, but also obeying it. So when you hear His voice and do His bidding, you are immensely blessed. Without God’s leading, life will be hard and achievements impossible. But with His leading, your life will be full of His purpose, provision and presence.

Thirdly, God will guide you when you hear him, listen to Him and obey Him. To receive God’s guidance, you must acknowledge him in all your ways (Proverbs 3:5-6). Through this avenue, you come to realise and acknowledge His purpose for your life. This saves you from aimless wandering in the market square of life.

Also, hearing God’s Word will give you comfort in distress. In 1 Samuel 30:8, David inquired of the Lord in his distressed state. He heard God’s voice and He recovered all what the enemies had stolen from him. Beloved, whenever you are in distress, call on God; listen to His instructions to do them, and you will be victorious, in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Every spiritual blockage preventing me from hearing from God, clear away now, in the name of Jesus.

2. I destroy every agent of darkness in my environment that wants to prevent me from hearing the Lord, in the name of Jesus.

3. O Lord, pour Your Spirit upon me and let Him give me mental and spiritual alertness, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Every spirit of confusion in my life, come out now, in the name of Jesus.

5. Every sin in my life that will stop my spiritual connectivity to You, O God, arise and destroy it now, in the name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, give me the grace to identify Your voice when You speak to me, in the name of Jesus.Lord.

7. I come to You today because I want to hear Your voice; speak to me as You spoke to the prophets of old, in the name of Jesus.
