WELCOME to MFM Devotional for 20/04/22

Memory Verse:
Galatians 3:13-14 – “Christ hath
redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Galatians 3:13-14

13 The law says we are under a curse for not always obeying it. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us and put himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “Anyone who is hung on a tree is under a curse.”

14 Because of what Jesus Christ did, the blessing God promised to Abraham was given to all people. Christ died so that by believing in him we could have the Spirit that God promised.

Deuteronomy 30:1-10

The Israelites Will Return to Their Land

30 “Everything that I have mentioned will happen to you—both the blessings and the curses. And you will remember these words when the Lord your God sends you away to other nations.

2 Then you and your descendants will turn back to the Lord your God. You will follow him with all your heart and completely obey all his commands that I have given you today.

3 Then the Lord your God will be kind to you. The Lord your God will make you free again! He will bring you back from the nations where he sent you.

4 Even if you were sent to the farthest parts of the earth, the Lord your God will gather you from there and bring you back.

5 The Lord your God will bring you into the land your ancestors had, and the land will become yours. He will do good to you, and you will have more than your ancestors had. You will have more people in your nation than they ever had.

6 The Lord your God will make you and your descendants want to obey him. Then you will love the Lord your God with all your heart. And you will live!

7 “Then the Lord your God will make all these bad things happen to your enemies, who hate you and cause you trouble.

8 And you will again obey the Lord. You will obey all his commands that I give you today.

9 The Lord your God will make you successful in everything you do. He will bless you with many children. He will bless your cows—they will have many calves. He will bless your fields—they will grow many good crops. He will be good to you. The Lord will again enjoy doing good for you, the same as he enjoyed doing good for your ancestors.

10 But you must do what the Lord your God tells you to do. You must obey his commands and follow the rules that are written in this Book of Teachings. You must obey the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Then these good things will happen to you.

MFM 20/4/22 MESSAGE:
Parental curses are curses issued by parents against their offspring. Parental curses have grave consequences as we can see in the case of Jacob and some of his children upon whom he laid curses. These are Reuben, Levi and Simeon (Genesis 49). These curses followed
them throughout their lifetime. One must be careful not to attract or invite parental curses upon one’s life.

Once a curse is in place, there will be trouble, pain, hardship, delay, stagnancy, and turbulence in every area of life. As a matter of fact, things go haywire when a life, a thing or a place is under a curse as we can see in the case of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3: 23-24).

The question is this, what could make a parent to lay curses on his or her child or children?

There are many factors that can lead to this. The first is disobedience. A disobedient child can attract curses from his or her parents.

The second is frustration. A frustrated parent can lose control and lay curses on the children.

The third is demonic possession. A parent who is demon-possessed will lay curses on the children.

The fourth is anger. Some parents vent their anger on their children by cursing them.

The fifth is occult practices. A parent who is involved in the occult could be mandated to lay curses on the children. The list goes on and on.

Some parents even curse their children unconsciously. What type of parent will resort to cursing when he or she is not happy with a child? It is a parent who is ignorant or not born again. A parent that curses a child lacks the fruit of the Spirit and is very carnal. Under no condition should a parent curse his or her child.

Although children can sometimes behave in such a way that can provoke their parents to anger, parents must exercise restraint. Instead of cursing, they should pray prayers of blessings.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Let the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead break any parental curse upon me now, in the Name of Jesus.

2. Let the evil presence behind my case disappear now, in the Name of Jesus.

3. I reject curses and I claim blessings, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Let heavens begin to defend me, in the Name of Jesus.

5. O Lord, pour Your oil into my life and heal my roots, in the Name of Jesus.

6. O Lord, deliver me from any curse hindering me, in the Name of Jesus.

7. Every curse issued from the coven against me, break, in the Name of Jesus.
