Irked by the recent attack of NRC train and invasion of plane at Airport in Kaduna State,  well meaning Nigerians have continue to express their sadness over the attacks.

Just as they called for drastic steps to forestall further attacks, adding “FG should perform its constitutional role of protection of lives, property.”

The latest reaction is from Dr Obed Ofili, a Bible Teacher, Leadership Development Strategist, Spiritual Intelligence Coach, and Author.

The recent attacks on the train where some innocent lives were lost and Airport by bandits, according to  Ofili, must first of all be condemned because both attacks were undeserving, unjust, and unforgivable.

“The primary asset any nation has, is its people. The Federal government has unfortunately failed in protecting the Nigerian populace.

“I strongly believe that what our voices have failed to achieve, our votes will figure out, come 2023. But beyond voting, it is high time to start holding our political leaders accountable, without which we may not see the birth of the Nigeria of our dreams.”

Moreover,  the author and Bible teacher, while reiterating his call said, it is the people make a nation, not the other way round. That is why a government has the protection of lives and properties of its citizenry as one of its primary responsibilities.

When the Federal government is unable to do so, to protect Nigerians from the menace of bandits and other criminal elements, it lost its purpose and true power.

When Nigerians felt a former government was failing in its duties, some years ago, they voted it out. The same can be replicated come 2023. But beyond voting, it is high time we begin to hold our leaders and public servants generally, accountable for their leadership and services.

Without these, we may not see the birth of the Nigeria of our dreams.
