That 2020 conference by Brands Journaliats Association of Nigeria (BJAN) might have come and gone may not be news to industry watchers. But the fresh news is that the seeds it planted into the minds of customers of StarTimes may take longer time to be forgotten.
Reading out the reason for nominating StarTimes for the award, BJAN Chairman, Mr Princewill Ekwujuru, said StarTimes was painstakingly picked by BJAN Award Committee aftrr much deliberations on how impactful StarTimes has been to the country, especially during the lockdown periods.
In this event, StarTimes received award for being PayTV most innovatice and creative brand extension 2020.
The year 2020 has not been the easiest, it has in fact popularised many terms which were never known in years past.
“One of such terms is the COVID-19 which practically disrupted the first half of year 2020.
Since people worldwide were forced to stay indoors through the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, StarTimes served as better home-friendly tool during the lockdown.
According to Ekwujuru, “StarTimes GO channel was launched to offer a unique shopping experience where customers get entertained while shopping easy and affordable in one breath. StarTimes GO helps customers to save money while helping businesses to make money. It’s primary aim is to maximise benefits for all and improve the welfare of the society.
“The slogan ‘Better Life, Let’s Go’ is not just a slogan but encapsulates the idea that StarTimes GO is out to help people live better lives even as they adjust to new ways of living and enjoy non-contact top shopping experience through integrated services that combine TV, social media and phone calls.”
In his reaction, one of the StarTimes members, Mr Ali who received the award on behalf of the management, commended BJAN executive and the entire BJAN members for the award which said he, was a well-deserved award.
