Governor Sanwo-Olu warns LASTMA officials against arrest of any motorist

Following the abuse of power by some officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sawno-Olu has reduced their function only to just traffic management and NOT to arrest any motorist.

In a statement, the Governor declared that from “Henceforth no LASTMA officials should arrest any motorist, either commercial or private.

“The duty of LASTMA is to manage traffic and not to arrest anyone.

” I have heard alot of complaints. Any officials that violates the rule of his work, will be severely dealt with.”

“If at any time LASTMA official makes attempt to arrest you or forcefully enter your car, Don’t argue with them, just allow the LASTMA to enter your car and call these numbers…”
